Hi there.

I have a brand new 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and when I turn off the vehicle, lock the doors and walk away, the “press clutch and push button to start” light illuminates in the dash and does not go out. My key fab is inside my house with plenty of distance away from the vehicle. It has already completely drained my battery and required a jump start.

The dealership does not know how to fix the problem. Can you help?

So many questions...
How much time did this dealer spend troubleshooting/diagnosing, and what exactly did they do?

Did they replace the batteries?

When did you start noticing this behavior?

Is it possible the 2nd fob is still in the Jeep? If your dealer is clueless it's time to try somewhere else.

The dealer had the vehicle for about a day and a half. They ran diagnostics on the battery and said it all checked okay. We noticed the light on the first day we brought it home. The second key fab is not anywhere near the vehicle. The dealer told us to drive the vehicle for a while in hopes that the glitch works itself out. I imagine I am just going to drain the battery again as the message won’t go off.

Good question but the second fob is with the first one (a good distance from the vehicle).

Whenever my dealership cannot find what's wrong with something (over the course of a couple different vehicles, not just my Jeep), I go to my actual, real, experienced mechanic that I use when I'm not doing warranty related things and get it diagnosed. They then send the diagnosis over to the dealer to tell the idiot techs they have what to do to fix it. I have a long relationship with this shop though so it might not be something that just any mechanic will do, but it's a tried and true method for me that has yet to let me down.

Which battery, and were they able to replicate the problem? Check your fuses...push 'em all in... it's a running gag around these parts, but some have found them loose. Most likely not the issue, but it doesn't hurt.

So they expect you to keep draining batteries? I haven't heard of this being a thing & I'm sorry I'm not of much help, but maybe try another dealer... a competent one.

Just because I was curious, I went out to the garage and my jeep was all nice and dark with a fob in the console.

Post a picture of the cluster, the transmission shifter, and the start pushbutton, maybe a clue hiding.

They did not replace the batteries. Do you think that could cause the issue? They supposedly tested at full strength.

It seems like a BCM module is stuck on. I would try disconnecting both batteries for 10 minutes and hard reboot the Jeep.

Wow, the lack of service from dealers is astounding!

OP - Follow Jeep wicks suggestion regarding disconnecting batteries for 10 min. Not a 4xE correct? That would be a different procedure.
