Guys, that's that high temperature sealant thingy that will go around the fill and drain plugs in the transfer case. I don't know why this guy is using it in the video, so I'm just using it following him.

Evidently, he doesn't know of other Loctite products. You're fine with this product. I've used it successfully for decades.

Try the loctite.

I plan to drain my new t-case on Friday after putting some offroad miles on it on Thursday. I don't have any Loctite sealant and I'm not planning on removing the t-case skid plate and instead was going to Rube Goldberg my way through it with some tin foil and funnels.

That thread sealant is a good idea but if I recall correctly there is one incorrect torque spec given. No way that bolt goes that high. It’s actually 18 ft lbs per Alldata iirc. I looked at that video when making my own and talked about this.
