Replaced both of mine recently due to the same symptom, plus the alternator was constantly running at 14.3-14.5v. Went with Odyssey replacements for both. Now the message is gone, start/stop works, charging system works normally again (for this thing anyways), gas mileage even went up a bit.
I use 303 for its UV protection a couple times a year, still looks new even with Florida sun. Granted it only has 15k miles, but I’ve done the same with previous vehicles and plastics/tires stay in great shape with 303.
Not the best picture due to the reflection, but these are the Oculus bi-led graphite. Excellent headlights. Old picture, Jeep has changed quite a bit, but these headlights will stay. Stock was garbage Sport halogen, new headlights went in easy and have had no issues with them for three years...
Moral of the story - fully research your mods if you DIY, don't trust that anyone else is 100% correct about anything. This has always worked for me, and if I have a problem, it's MY mistake.
I have the Oracle bi-led 9” headlights on a 2020 sport. They are an outstanding improvement over halogen, and overall an outstanding light. You won’t be disappointed spending the extra money.
No, higher rpm is not more efficient, more rpm means more fuel in general. You may think that if you’re looking at the mpg readout, but that’s a calculation that includes speed. More rpm means more speed so yes the mpg will go up with higher rpm. That doesn’t mean that more rpm equals more...
I have a two door with 35x12.5x18’s, 2.5” lift, heavy bumpers. I get around just fine under 3k RPM. Yes it makes more power at 4-5k, but that also requires much more fuel to make that power. It doesn’t gain mpg by running more rpm.
OP- I’d suggest a few things. Remove the negative battery...
The way most people drive is a big factor. 20-80mph, doesn’t matter, one-two car lengths off the person in front of them. As if they are going to get there faster somehow.
+1 to this. I have the Overland Plus 2.5" kit on our 2020 2-door sport, excellent parts, instructions, customer service, everything you need and then some.
Not as often as I'd like to, we just don't get out as much as I'd like. I have not fully tested airing down with our combo of wheel/tires, but I'd expect to be ok at 12-15psi. If I ever roll a bead I'll know!
