I was at the dealer last week for oil change and tire rotation.

A woman in front of me had a ’22 Wrangler and her hood edges were bubbling under the paint. Dealer ordered her a new hood. Not sure if that means the new hood will be painted at the factory or if a local body shop will do the paint.

The service manager said there are a lot aluminum-paint corrosion claims. Not just the Wrangler. I think they said the Pacifica has lots of problems with corrosion also. The service manager said at least FCA is approving the corrosion repair warranties.

I wish they would fix the issue already. The corrosion/bubbling thing is getting old.

I'm sure they know exactly what the problem and fix is and have the numbers crunched.

I’ll be dropping mine off this Monday for the 2nd time, first time we’re the hinges now it’s the hood. What my dealer does is order the part needed and has an off site paint shop prep and paint the new part. Not sure if all dealers do that 🤷‍♂️.

My dealership is an epic fail. Still waiting for body shop appointment since Oct when the ordered parts arrived.

Hi, didnt want to start a new thread but I was curious if anyone had any experience with Bedford Jeep in Bedford Hills, NY? I got on their list in December and given I dont need a loaner, am next on the list for the corrosion work. They were with a few local bodyshops and have been doing a ton of this work they said. I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on them and how the process went, the work, etc. I am a member on the FB corrosion page, and haven't had any hits. I have a list of questions for the service advisor when I bring it in as we haven't taken pictures yet etc.

22 here and went to the dealership today for bubbles on the front hood edge and rear passenger underside of the door, they told me I should wait 2 more years and see if more paint bubbles in other areas. I was told by the service Mgr they only allow 1 paint warranty per vehicle for corrosion. I find that to be BS but left and now looking to find out if that is true. or just the dealerships way of keeping from having too many repeat customers if you know what I mean.

Went to my dealer two different times for different areas without an issue.

Back in 80s & 90s Mopar had a report called EPUR. Expense per unit repaired. It measured warranty expenses vs. District, Region, Country. It would benefit that dealer to fix 2 spots for say $800 than 4 for $1,600. It helps when a simple little $40 warranty claim on a different VIN needs repaired. It gets that average down to $420 per unit. Bottom line is fix the vehicles right the first time, don't just throw parts at it. As a service manager if you put a part in a car and it didn't fix it, do not charge the customer or the factory, you just got to eat it.
Usually, taking care of a customer under warranty, can lead to a happy customer. Happy customers come back for oil changes, happy oil change customers come back for other filters/brakes/tires/factory scheduled maintenance services. Happy service customers USUALLY give your sales department first shot at a replacement vehicle. Happy sales customers refer their friends and family back the the dealer. The cycle continues....off my soapbox now

Sounds like a bunch of BS. I've heard plenty of members take their Jeeps in for corrosion work, on the same vehicle, on more than one occasion.
I had mine repaired a few years into ownership. Unfortunately, the second round of corrosion didn't appear until year 6 of ownership. Oh well, maybe @JeepCares can help with that?

Don't know about the 1 fix per vehicle part of it but waiting until the last year of the warranty makes sense. No sense in having 1 or 2 doors done now then having to bring it back again a year later for the remaining doors

Yeah does sound like BS - but some dealers like to dish that out - or simply have no clue.

According to this thread FCA looks to have provided some compensation to owners after 5 years:
