If Your Wrangler is less than 5 years old, and less than 100,000 miles, the dealership should cover the repair. Take it in, and point it out. It might take a while to get the repairs done, back orders and all.Sorry, I'm a newbie here. How do I open a claim with Jeeps Cares? I appreciate any help you can provide.
Not sure if one would work. FCA will generally always approve the repair, no questions asked. The problem is the dealer themselves, an independent 3rd party, facilitating them. Jeep can't force a dealer to do anything thanks to franchise laws. Maybe you could argue that FCA not compensating dealers enough to fully cover the repair is effectively not honoring the warranty? They revised and re-published it……. The comments in that article are really something, would seem like a class action suit?
I’ve seen more than a few JKs with the same problem. It’s not unique to JLs.I see plenty of old JK's running around, and no indication of bubbling, anywhere. I think I would have preferred steel doors, and a little more weight, to avoid this corrosion issue.
It's been an issue on ALL our of aluminum panels. The pacifica hoods are also notorious for it. We're just using more aluminum these days so it's way more noticeable. If the surface isn't prepped perfectly during painting the corrosion is almost guaranteed eventually. In mass production it's pretty easy for a panel or two to slip through those quality checks.I’ve seen more than a few JKs with the same problem. It’s not unique to JLs.
Based on a poll on this board > 60% see bubbles. In mass production it's pretty easy for a panel or two to slip through those quality checks.
for sure! Folks here really pulled through.Man, if only Tommy from @TFL did a little research and used the search feature on the site, he would have gotten the wealth of knowledge from a thread like this, already prepped and all the work done for him.
I wonder if he likes reading?![]()
I hope it all helps. What brand of hinges did you use?I have a 22, built august 22. No bubbles or issues yet. Replaced all the hinges, prepped and painted all raw aluminum under all hinges. Applied cavity wax to tailgate, hood and doors at the seams. I just don’t want the hassle of getting it fixed, only to have it come back because they are repairing it in correctly. Maybe I get lucky, maybe I end up having a high end shop do it correctly.

I used 74weld for doors, royal hooks for hood, teraflex for tailgateI hope it all helps. What brand of hinges did you use?
Of course they would lie because they don't want to deal with it. When I went to mine, they followed up with excuses and claimed I wouldn't like the outcome. I pushed for service and they outright denied to proceed.2019 sting-grey JLU Rubicon, 39000 miles, with rust bubbles all around the hood and around some of the door hinges. I was told last month by my local jeep stealership that I was 1 month + past my corrosion warranty period and to just suck it up and move along. Yikes !! After reading through the forums, etc. searching for a solution I decided to call @JeepCares to see if they could do anything. We'll, to my surprise, my jeep still has 2 months of corrosion coverage. The rep suggested I waste no time getting the corrosion damage inspected and documented by a jeep dealership, and then call @JeepCares back to start my claim. Simply awesome. First thing Monday morning I'll be hot on it. Thanks @JeepCares for some good news to help fix this obscene issue. My advice to others with this issue, call the @JeepCares number.
