I noticed he was banned today. The post that causes a ban is usually (always?) deleted. This one was not really ban worthy. My guess is it was a recent diesel thread. I was surprised to see him given the boot.
I saw that, I was surprised too. I thought one would at least get a warning before getting the boot.

Is there any way to figure out how long he's banned for? I think that @Jjirish chick was banned for like a year or something before she was allowed back, or something like that.
Omgosh. I was never banned. I just got a violation message. Im a sweetheart- not a rebel! IMO I still hold claim to the best thread - so im cool with the violation.
Moderators did close the thread for comments..... just to make a point i guess.

Im totally out of the loop but TX_Ovrlnd was banned? He gave me a lot of great advice! What a bummer.

FYI most modern synthetic gear oils contain friction modifiers. Additional friction modifier will reduce the differential lock up friction.

Friction based LSDs are always bound up, you need need to overcome whatever static friction they have with a torque differnetial between the wheels while you are turning. If you use conventional fluid without modifer, you may have the inside tire skipping on parking lot manuvers. To reduce this behavior, friction modifiers make the fluid more slippery, which reduces the torque needed to slip the clutch pack. It also reduces it's effectiveness at being an LSD.

Change it with synthetic, and add modifier to taste slowly if desired, based on how it performs making tight circles or figures 8s at slow speeds and nearly full lock.

Or run conventional plus the additive.

If you the oil you run ends up too "modified" or slippery, you might as well have an open differential.

@Tredsdert be careful, if you don't use enough of the LSD additive you can easily smoke the clutches in the LSD.
I've seen several Ford 9inch rear ends catastrophic failures cause of this. One even bond up so bad that it ended up cracking the third member.

The bottle said add 2 to 5% of the total amount to go into the differential from the LSD additive. I added 2%. Like the guy above said, if I need more I'll add more. But for now 2% is what I'm running with.
It’s ok, when it fries, you can get a locker and forget about it…..?
