I’m getting ready to order either the rubicon or the rubicon X. I want the 3:6 and really want the 35’s with the 4.58 axle ratio (like the current 35 extreme). The regular rubicon comes with the 4.10s and standard size tires. Do the 35’s reduce the power or do the 4.58s completely offset the increased diameter and weight of the tires. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

It pretty much offsets. Can you get the 2.0T motor (more torque) in that package? :bandit:

I have a JL 3.6 with 4.11 gears and 33's and a JLU 3.6 with 4.56 gears with 35's. (XR) The 4.11 is a manual, and the XR is an auto with Etorque. The 4.56 gears remove any performance degrading from the 35" tires. Both Jeeps have plenty of zip. The JL when stock with 3.45 gears and 33's was a real dog. Gearing makes all the difference. The XR package makes this Jeep the best one I've ever owned.

Lower gearing offsets the tire size difference; it does NOT offset the tire weight difference.

You will likely see lower MPG numbers.

From what I have seen on here, most XR owners report 13/17 MPG. Which is roughly what I get on my lifted Sahara V6 with 35s and 4.88 gears.

I have the 35s with 3.6 and 4.56 gears and the Jeep turns those tires extremely easily.

Yup, and I'm seeing 18 mpg, (calculated), mostly short hops

i have 2.0T with 4.10 gears. recently switched from stock 33’s to 35’s

Power: any drop in power i honestly couldn’t notice. still goes faster than it should lol. the ONLY time i am wanting for power is going up steep sandy hills in the desert. any other time off road if i put my foot down it just spins the tires, even when already moving pretty quick

MPG: went from 20-21 avg to 17-18 avg. i’m pretty determined to make that go up though. it’s my commuting mini game haha
