You‘re going to want several projectiles in flight well north of 45 cal. Slightly north of 70 cal. A batch of Federal Power-Shock rifled hollow point 12 gauge 438 grain slugs moving at 1610 fps. Otherwise practice running and shooting a handgun back over your shoulder. Mostly kidding.

My only reason for the question was that I have a nice rack for a rifle overhead and the 16oz can fits right there with velcro straps. I will keep it there and remove when its sunny or warm. Lots of great response and I do prefer the Benelli or Les Baer but the spray has a place also. Sometimes I just want the critters to go away.

I am extremely awed by the 1/2”+ diameter beautiful flowers petals that my great friend Samuel Colt plants so wonderfully. I love the planting technique that began in 1911. I’m not just partial to God’s cal but with the original but more modern equipment used to distribute the seeds. 😁

We have more .45 caliber Golden Sabre +P pepper balls than I’m comfortable putting through an expensive “Baer sprayer” not officially rated for them. May need to get a cheaper one to use them all up, as we’ve also switched to the HST flavored ones that grow prettier flowers. 🙄

The problem with God’s Caliber is it sort of stops working when you cross certain lines on a map. While we’re fortunate to have been able to move, we still have to go back on occasion. We also like having options should we ever have to handle any overly-enthusiastic neighborhood pets that might be allergic to flowers. 🤣

My good man, I don’t intend on hunting, camping, or hiking where there are water buffalo or rhinos.
If I need more projectiles I always have another piece of equipment in the Jeep with the ability to plant 30 sweet fast moving items & I can usually do that up to 5 times.
That’s without getting my wife’s equipment involved. 😊
I do not believe in running unless it’s extreme matters concerning my colon!😂

Totally up to you, but I would be a little concerned keeping it right near the roof like that even with the headliners and the a/c going. Do you have the Molle strap seat backs like on our 2019? You could clip it or mount a fabric holster to the back of the passenger seat within easy reach.

Leaving it on the dashboard? I'm sorry. but one must be utterly stupid.
Leaving it in some compartment? I had my bear spray in one of a thousand hidden storage that my Honda Pilot hasRubicon does not have and it was pretty chill there (despbite black body color) evan on a hot day in a desert. Also no bears in the desert =)

Anybody every have issues with having a can of pepper/bear spray left in the Jeep?
I don't mind leaving in, I just don't want it to blow up. That may suck a bit.

Although I could rub my hard boiled eggs on the roof while driving to work.
I’ve been doing it for years and never had any issues. I do replace the canister once a year, though.

A can of bear spray in cup holder behind console in my JT same place one has been for last 5 plus years.
Definitely test out occasionally and replace as needed. The spray doesn't normally get weaker just loss of pressure.
The LEO types pepper sprays problems is losses of pressure and not shaken up... then some of it is weak or otherwise. I was a O.C. instructor, to many exposures. One of the worst was from training using out of date O.C. spray the level 1 exposure I was still having effects 5 days later, and bloodshot eyes from it.

Let me pose a crazy scenario.
Keep in mind that I have had a leaking can of bear spray get on both of my hands & the oil was then transferred to my lips & spots on my arms.
Thankfully I realized what the problem was before I peed. Even after multiple times of washing my hands I was still scared of going to the bathroom to take care of my business.
If someone did put this in an ammo can with desiccant & the seal around the neck leaked this extremely spicy capsaicin oils which would then soak into the desiccant. Anyone getting the can out would potentially have to dig through said desiccant to access the can & then attempt to use it. The desiccant would absorb the oils but it could still be transferred to anyone that might touch it.
🤷‍♂️

My thoughts exactly!
Never carry a deterrent when you can carry something to stop the problem. 😁👍🏼

Don't take bear spray to a gun fight!
