Got back from a week long adventure in Ouray, CO. It's my new favorite place on the planet. The views are stunning.

Glad to see they opened the rest of Imogene Pass, and Animas Forks. I was up there a month ago, and the road to Animas Forks was still closed and you could only go up to Imogene Pass from Ouray and not Telluride.

Back in the 70's my then wife had a cousin who retired in Ouray. He lived in a house 1/2 way up the camp-bird mine road (the way to Yankee-Boy). We had a Land /Rover at the time and we drove down at least two weekends a month from Salt Lake City. Great Jeeping country.

Is the road from Yankee Boy over to Telluride still open?

I live in Tucson now, and intend to get a new Jeep and will be getting up to Ouray regularly

Indeed they are. Speaking of Animas Forks, here are some shots going through the recent cut in the avalanche slop. Taken this past Friday.

Nice. Looks a little smaller than when I went through it. Still impressive though.

Yeah it's also cool avalanche carnage on Corkscrew....of course I was distracted by the JKU on tracks, too ;)

Funny...I was also up there the 6th-11th.

Beautiful scenery but the wheeling is lame. Montrose is where you want to head for fun that's near that area and more similar in climate.
You can't go wrong in and around Crested Butte. Paradise Divide, and the back way to Crystal are awesome.

I'd love to move out there as well. That's the goal at least. I've got to be closer to the west. East coast is lame :)

Awesome shot and pretty sweet Gladiator as well.

I didn't get any photos at this point on Imogene. There were these 2 bikers that just parked right there and had lunch. I was not very happy about that.

That would be Imogene Pass and yes it's still open in the summer months anyway.
