I bet you can get Katzkin to re wrap the dash panels and door armrests , plus the shifter boots with blue 4xe stitching. Of course new seats covers too haha. Figure for an extra 5k or so you can get it looking like it should have in the first place. This is what the 22 4xe looked like, matching stitching everywhere.

Yes, all 4xe interiors should have been done with that color stitching. I'd do it, but I don't like leather seats. :(

Since the 80s leather has been sealed. Earlier leather had a different feel and richer smell. To me every 10 years leather has been less and less leather like than of long ago.

Only expensive foreign cars have unprotected / unsealed leather. I admit the leather seats of 15 years ago had some smell, but even less so now in domestic cars.
You may be correct, it is an expensive foreign car LOL! Although the leather steering wheel wrap on the Jeep, feels close to decent leather.....

None... but it pays well.

No different than any 2008 on up standard oem leather wrap. Toyota Supra and Solara around 1990 to 2000 had decent softer leather. To me if you wear away the protective matte film on newer cars, they feel more smooth and leather like.

When I buy a used car, I make sure it is a single owner, and spotless of any armor all, or synthetic protectant. I have seen gummy leather and way too shiny plastics to turn me away. I was very lucky the Rubicon had tan leather, as the instrument bezel is silver grey instead of red. That kinda stuff should be in the red eye hemi editions for Dodge.

The leather thing Jeepsters are experiencing is weird. Like cutting pennies to make a buck. Like I stated before and got banned, about the times when Obummer was in office great deals on used cars and new cars that were refreshed penny pinched for all it was worth. Leather was one of them issues back then. I guess we cannot say anything about the times, even if it has no politics, people will interpret it so.

to be honest, Chrysler products have always had crappy leather and interiors going all the way back to the 70s and 80s. Even back to the New Yorker and Le baron LOL! They all looked great from 10 feet away, but after about 3 years the leather began to crack and split and looked like it was 20 years old.

I think jeep interiors looks nice for what it is designed to be, but I keep wondering how nice it could really be if they spent a few more thousand and put some quality plastics and leather that would increase durability and customer satisfaction...

Between my 19 then 20 Rubicon's and now my 2024 X model. They interior's fit and finish is by far the best upgrade. My steering wheel, trim, and seats are way more comfy, Durability will only be tested by time. my 2020 had worn/started to peel after about 30k miles or so. The only issue I can honestly say is I'm not a big fan of the power seats as I can't get my position correct/in the same spots as I had on my previous jeeps... but that is going to be different for everybody. All in all the updates to the 2024 materials are great.

Jeeps use leather? No way...
I always assumed all the 'leather' was not real leather, especially the seats.

Just wanted to add my regular reminder:

YES leather is coated with a polymer clear coat for durability in automotive applications but NO it is not "sealed". Leather is porous and the clear coat does not span the pores. It only protects the surface. So you still need to clean and condition it or you will end up with a dry, cracked, mess. Neatsfoot oil is what you want...most good conditioners (i.e. NOT ArmorAll) contain it. Some good cleaners also contain it.

I am looking at 2024 Rubicon X and just noticed that the steering wheel is leatherette. Since when?
I had a 2018 Rubicon and as far as I remember the steering wheel was real leather.
Must tell this. My wife went Mercedes Benz shopping a while ago. We asked the salesman if the seats and steering wheel were leather and we got literally 20 minutes of no answer even when we kept prodding. The seats were, as with most Mercedes Benzs, MB Tex which is its highly acclaimed, high quality, synthetic leather which looks quite good and lasts forever. Why couldn't he have been honest and told us of its good qualities? I expected better than a Jeep salesman at Mercedes Benz.
