I had adaptive cruise control in my wife's Prius. We drove from Phoenix to LA a lot on I-10 with endless big rigs. It was wonderful. I didn't have to stop and restart the cruise control during my endless passing of trucks.
However, I don't take my Rubicon (2020) on trips like this because I...
I don't know if you can get colored grills aftermarket. You can get the black Willy's.
For me disconnecting the sway bar is a big deal and it's not on the Willy's. You can really upgrade this with a Tazer but I never thought about whether it works on model not set up to disconnect the sway...
I disconnect the sway bar almost always when off road. I have a Tazer so I can do so in any gear and speed. It helps a lot. I have used the rear lockers a certain amount, and the front hardly at all due to the steering issues. It does become intuitive over time. (I'll throw in that with a...
It's not $100,000, just $99,995. I would never pay $100,000 for a vehicle. But some will. I sat behind a gorgeous Sarge Green Bronco Raptor this morning, with at least 37" tires. It was a work of art and must have had a $1,000 detailing. It had a fraternity sticker on it so presumably a...
I think it would be a Rubicon Junior if it also had a disconnecting sway bar. You could beef up the tires and suspension and add steel bumpers and a winch and be in the ballpark of a base Rubicon. All you would lack would be front lockers which is probably the least used Rubicon upgrade.
Greatly respect your opinions but it seems there options, even a Bronco, that would accomplish what you want yet not handle like a 1940s truck in the process. We hardcores get used to it for a reason but you don't have to.
I am 68 and have gotten used to all of the quirks and ride issues with a Rubicon. Ask me again in 10 (or 5) years.
I think having an older model in very good shape would be fun and have a good resale value if you ever got rid of it.
I have driven manuals most of my driving life, hence my name. I had one with my first Jeep, a Sport, but didn't get one with my current Rubicon. I drive up and back from the Arizona mountains a lot. I go from 1,400 above sea level to 7,400 in less than three hours and there is a great deal of...
I have a 2020 JLRU. I don't do "heavy duty" off roading but do a lot of difficult trails and I have used every Rubicon feature to some extent. What I use least are the front lockers. What I use most is the sway bar disconnect. With a Tazer, I can disconnect the sway bar in 2WH and 4WH and go...
All I know is that when I go to the dealer, there are scores of unsold 4xe's (and Gladiators). My conclusion from that is that they are not selling, at least recently. I noticed that as of this year, the tax credit has been cut in half.
I recall that a year or two ago, Car and Driver's...
Sorry if this has been said but if you plan to off road, get a winch (which requires a steel bumper, so you're looking at $2 - $3,000). First and foremost, you want to be able rescue yourself. It happened to me.
So enlighten me. They weigh around 800 pounds more because of the batteries. The rear seats won't fold down because of the batteries. Somehow, the actual owner, directly or with a reduced future sales price, will bear the cost of replacing the batteries. Plus Car & Driver gave the 4xe a...
And can list the most inexpensive model to show that Jeeps are affordable. That's probably the Sport with manual transmission, locks and windows, and no A/C, which I doubt exists.
From what I can tell, in general, the X has every factory option, the non X has whatever options are put on it. I personally would like the black hardtop roof and fenders. It looks like you can get the non X with the black fenders standard and the black top a standard option. On the Jeep...
