Hello,

I am working with a small dealer on the ID border. Trade value bend over event happens this Wednesday on my 2023 JLURD. Had them build a JL Rubicon and a JL Rubicon X. MSRP on the Rubicon as I built it is $62,790, selling $500 over invoice for $61,769 and the Rubicon X is $62,515, selling for $61,475. 3.6L and 6spds for both. You cannot order Sarge Green right now. Also, you cannot order a 2.0L / the XR package. I specked one just to see the price difference from them. Dude says that Jeep has a hold on the 2.0Ls due to problems with the engines, which is news to me.

Anyway, just thought I'd share what I'm being told. Thanks.

"Jeep has a hold on the 2.0Ls due to problems"

Is there any more info on the potential problems? Did a cursory search for 2.0 problems but not much about a Jeep hold found

You should absolutely not even be paying invoice pricing, much less anything OVER invoice. You should be paying closer to 8-10% BELOW invoice on a factory order.

You really should shop around, that is a horrible deal.
And yes, when I was looking at ordering, the 2.0 L was unavailable on Rubicons. Jeep wants that 3.6 L upcharge i guess on Rubicons (even though it's the worse engine of the two).

I can't find anything either and would question the accuracy of the dealer. Isn't this the same engine used in the Cherokee and Compass, possibly other Dodge/Chrysler vehicles. Seems like you'd see a stop-sell on any of those 4-bangers sitting on lots.

I was told, Jeep has put a hold on 2.0L engines on all models except 4xe until the 2025 models.

500 over invoice they ain’t doing u NO favors. Look elsewhere u can get 6-9% below invoice by many on the forum.

Not exactly on topic, but why are you working with a dealership that won't even do affiliate discount pricing? Check the spreadsheet in my sig.
Peterson in Nampa, ID. They now do 1% under invoice, with Tread Lightly. $499 doc fee. Kent no longer works there.

Thanks for the direction. The PNW does not have dealers, that I can find, that offer what some dealers on the east coast and the south do.

Seems there are limited dealers in the PNW that do that.

If they do that, fine, but why kneecap the profit margin from the XR kit on the JLs?

I thought they might be backing out. Damn. I've removed them from the spreadsheet. Thanks.
