No matter what vehicle you have- inspect the bolt the first time you remove it. I've seen bolts that came with crush washers but the washers can come off. Pull that bolt out, drop it on the floor or maybe in the oil pan, then when you pick it up to reinstall it the washer is not on it. It will still work pretty well, but you might get a few drips on your garage floor. It's better to get your washer back on there.

There is no separate washer. It has a molded elastomer on the flange.

I was just speaking in general. The JL 3.6 is one piece but I've seen other vehicles that aren't one piece.
I recently added a drain plug to my truck's transmission pan. I liked the GM engine oil pan plug so much, I just bought a few of those (one for the trans and a couple spares to keep around.). It has a flange with a groove and O-ring.

Just adding some info, my 3.6 does not.

18 Subaru Crosstrek was the first time I had to change the washer every time.

No, no crush washer. Here is a pic of the drain bolt. That round metal, thick washer affair at the base of the bolt is not a washer but part of the bolt itself. Now, this thick metal washer may have some type of press fit insert of sorts (hard to tell by looking at it) that is not removable..

Also.... the oil pan drain bolt is not magnetized.

My Jeep has the 2.0L engine. Does this response apply to both the 3.6L and 2.0L engines? Thanks.

No crush washer from factory, but I throw a copper (buy a pack cheap on Amazon) washer on there and no leaks or issues. And I dump my used motor oil and filter in a local sanctuary pond.
