I know some folks lately have had oil leaking issues etc. I had similar issue in a way. I was cleaning Jeep the other day and was detailing the engine bay and looked up to the hood and saw a nice line of something on the hood. WTF is this stop cleaning and checked fluids oil and power steering thing a bob. Nope all good looked deeper and noticed in was in line with the alternator belt. Well no oil in those what is going on. Finished cleaning and watcher for next couple of days nothing new. Changed oil today and noticed I spilled some oil when filling. BINGO light bulb that's what the residue was on my hood oil from last oil change how the heck did I not see this line on hood before. Crazy things can happen to us all. I'm so glad for this forum so stories like this my help a person out.

If it makes you feel better, all the doom and gloom associated with the grease line from the alternator is over blown. Mine did that several years ago, for many months. It stopped, and has been fine ever since.
