If you check the Tazer instructions they specifically call out the 8.4”.... IE: I too think you are out of luck here my friend...
Joe is working on making this work for the 7". Maybe in the next update.

Here, crossing my fingers. Either that or maybe I’ll need to swap out the 7" for the 8.4"

“FULL REBOOT”
what is a full reboot? I am abit suspicous of doing anything that might make my off road pages go away. Did you have any issues with that ?

When you are scrolling through the Tazer functions one of the last functions is “full reboot”....choose it and let that happen. It takes about one and half to two minutes to finish...then you will be good to go. It did not affect my off road pages or any other functions.

I think it was a Chuanganzhuo...or something like that. Got it at Amazon. Haven’t had it out on the trail yet. Does seem to have good picture quality.

I had an existing opening behind the trim near passenger side door, it comes out under cowl into the hood behind battery.
I'll have to look carefully for that. I've been trying to find a place for the front camera wire to come through. Thanks!

You can also go thru the area for a clutch if you have an automatic

If you utilize the Tazer video cable, do you have to mess with a power source? I was confused by some posts earlier in this thread that referenced the power source.

Also, if one was to use this as essentially a parking aid (lots of parallel parking for me), do any of you have any suggestions on location or camera type. Finally, the Tazer has the option of fast selecting the camera by hitting the mute button twice. Can you get to the cargo camera when you do that?

I should add that I ordered the Nakita camera on Amazon. And I saw that it calls for the camera to be connected to the "reverse-light" power source but what if you want power to the camera when you are moving forward. Can someone fill the gap in my knowledge here.

Thank you in advance.

So I can only speak to my install, reference it earlier in this thread for details. Regarding your first question AFAIK separate power is still required with the camera I used or the chuanganzhuo. I know this because I purchased and tested both. I opted for the unit I selected because of the viewing angle. The one I used provides a 145 degree view whereas the chuang... was a 90degree. I preferred wider at greater distortion personally. (I included
Photos earlier so you can see my view earlier in this thread) You can double click mute as indicated to access and rapidly toggle between rear and cargo via touchscreen or make both available on the uConnect apps bar, I find myself using them both so ooften that I have both mapped to my apps bar. BUT selecting one allows for simply selecting the “other” in the upper
left portion of the display when camera view is up.

I think the Nakita you reference is the one I went with. On it you clip cable leads to disable/enable functions. Inverted view for orientation of camera upside down vs right side up, orientation of operation front facing versus rear facing (think mirror view versus a window view) and finally guide lines or not.

For my power lead, per instructions published in this thread I too tapped off the radio juice to power up the camera. Based on my mount location (upper portion of license plate) I never need additional lighting as I have that covered in excess on the front end of my rig.

Hope this helps!
