No air movement from defroster

Hey all, 2021 JLU, I have zero air movement from the defroster. Oddly enough though it is blowing out from the side defroster vents for the front windows. Not sure where to start or where to go. I’m guessing it’s an actuator but not sure which one would control that. Looking for some direction…thanks!

I'm sorry I have no helpful information, but can't resist asking, have you removed the ducks from the dash blocking the vents?

Is your freon low? Some vehicles vent systems won't function properly when it is low on freon.

Maybe check for a family of rodents clogging up the system

While alternating between the defrost, dash, and floor vents listen for the ticking of gnashing plastic gears.

You have the opposite of the OP's issue, but it's the same (easy) fix.

Haha! I’d definitely leave the cowboy duck in my jeep. I got ducked with that same mohawk duck a while back.

I think the actuator the OP is looking for is the one he will find once he opens the glove box. You will hear and see that actuator. Have someone change blower positions.

Just weird that it moves to every position but defrost, and on defrost only it blows like hell out of those side window vents.

Heh heh, the defrost position is where your blend door gear teeth are missing. Gotta love FCA “quality”…..

Also if you haven't changed your cabin air filter, i would do so. My AC was blowing really weak out of the vents but I heard heck of a sound coming from behind the dash so it was blowing just not making it through the vents I changed the cabin filter and everything was great not sure if that would affect one part of the defrost over the other but still worth changing
