Well she decided KO2 with white letters. Trying to talk her out of the white letters though. I had them in the 70’s and loved them but have gotten used to black walls since.

There's no need to talk her out of it. If she changes her mind at any time, all you have to do is have a tire shop flip the tires around. They're only white on one side.

I have reviewed many threads this forum but the most people are wanting bigger but my interest is different.

I am wanting new tires for my daughters JLU. She never leaves the pavement but wants the off-road look. The tire size I am looking for is 265/70R17 load range C. I am thinking more of a road tread but with some sidewall lugs. We want a smooth ride, good road manners, not too loud, yet not a car tire look.

They will be going on stock Rubicon wheels. Have thought about Nitto G2, Falken Wildpeak A/T3W as options.

Any personal experience with similar requirements will be appreciated.

P.s. We have KO2 on another Jeep and she likes the look but I am thinking a little more street tread.
just put toyo open country A/T 265/70/18 on my daily driver as it also is a pavement pounder.

So she is happy. Now just need to figure out why TPMS light is flashing yet the pressures are being displayed correctly. All new sensors installed with tires.

265/70R17 on a 2018 Sport with Rubicon fender flares, no lift. Tire wheel combination weighs 75 lbs. Jeep sits 1” higher than stock 245/75R17 Bridgestone Dueler. The online tire size calculator told me they would be equal height but that was wrong.

Try airing the tires down to 35 PSI and see if it goes out. They aired them to the max on the sidewalls, not what the Jeep is rated for, which is about 37 PSI. Also, when your tires are aired down it will handle better and be closer to the same height is was with the 245s.

The door sticker says 36 but I dropped them to 38 and took a drive. The light will flash for about a min and then burn solid. If I shut the engine down then restart, the pattern repeats. Will ck with the tire store tomorrow.

Weird, since the pressure is showing on all of them.

Sounds like a disconnect somewhere in the system. My bet is a simple re learn will reset the system for you. Your local Discount Tire location can diagnose that for you at no charge.

I bought the tires at Discount tires and they installed new sensors that I supplied. I went back there this morning and they told me to not worry and drive it for a week to see if it stops showing the TPMS light. My interpretation is they got paid and aren’t interested in resolving the issue. I hope I am wrong. Spent ~$1,500 there.

I set all 5 tires to 36# then drove the highway for an hour plus a number of short trips and still have accurate readings on the Jeep screen but also still have a TPMS light flash for about a min then solid the entire time the Jeep is running. Talked to the tire store and then to Schrader who made the OEM sensors and got a part number in case I need to buy another set.

Another vote for Falken Wildpeak AT3W. Been rocking these on my 2019 GC Limited and my 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn. Love the look of them. They are pretty quiet on the road and very capable in all weather and some off the pavement fun.

Going to throw into this Tire Thread with a firm vote for the KO2s. I have just over 100k miles on 2 sets of KOs. First set lasted close to 60k miles. Others may disagree with me but I think they are great tires. Most of my miles are on-road but I do also go off-roading (Deadwood and Big Horns Jeep Jamborees, and Moab to name a few places), and they have never let me down. Quiet on the roads and decent traction in the wet.

I purchased a set of 5 OEM sensors from Schroeder for $165 had Discount tire install them this morning for a cost of $40.00. As soon as I drove out of they lot all sensors funcioned as the should and light went out.

now when I got home and took out my torque wrench to check all the lugs (supposed to be 130lbs) I found 3 nuts hand tight, two of which are the locking lug nuts.

in conclusion I and happy this is all over but more attention needs to be paid to ensuring all the lug nuts get tightened to the correct torque.

I had to buy 5 more new OEM sensors from Schrader for $165 and pay Discount $40.00 to install them.

when I got home to check the lug nuts with my torque wrench I found 3 hand tight, 2 of which are the locking lug nuts. Not a great felling of confidence. My suggestion is that everyone do like me and double check your lug nuts are to factory torque.
