My discount tire required a $25 deposit to order.
Was it two weeks from placing your order? Just trying to time when I pick up my Jeep.

All tire manufacturers advertise their tire sizes as unmounted donut size, why? How the hell do they know how much your rig weighs, it can be a 9000 lb loaded Hummer, or it can be a Subaru. They also don't know what width rim you are mounting too.
Actually, tire manufacturers publish their tire sizes when mounted to a stated wheel width.

For BFG KO2 37x12.5R17 all published measurements are when mounted on a 17x10" wheel.

There is no 37" tire, regardless whatever brands, ever ever run true to size under load, ever!

There is usually half inch difference from the smallest 37 to the largest 37 (35.5 to 36). Unless they are put side by side, there is no way human eye can tell difference of half inch on a 37 inch tire, so the perceived "BFG is smaller" is true, but most of the time it is a placebo when you just look at it.
Not sure anyone thinks they are "true to size". We were discussing actual sizes. As far as comparative sizes, I have multiple members on my Jeep club with JLs and JTs, and nearly all are on 37x12.5" tires. Simply parking next to them the width and diameter of the KO2s is visually smaller than other tires. Close to an inch smaller on width and diameter.

That is neither good, nor bad. It is just a piece of info in the buying decision. I personally wanted a tire that would be in between a 35" and 37" tire, so it's not a big deal, though I was surprised that mine barely measure 34" under the Jeep.

Its gotta be because you are on an 8.5" wheel. Mine is 9" so I'll report my height tomorrow, see if theres a difference

Yes, that is part of it. 8.5" vs 9" will account for a 3% of sidewall height change in diameter at the shoulder or approximately 1/4". At the crown (highest point) of a mounted tire, the different would be less - I haven't done the math, but maybe 1/8".

Yup, that was pretty much exactly what mine came out to be. I went from the stock C load 33 inch K02s to the C load 37s. My ride actually got better. That was completely unexpected. But in full disclosure, I discovered my stock tires were at 45 psi and I made sure the 37s were only aired to 35 psi.

I am sure there are a bunch of threads on here with guys doing that. And YouTube videos. I think it’s possible. Stuffed, but possible

Several
Most tire manufacturers list the rim width that they used when measuring and listing the inflated tire diameter.

For example; The specification pages for BF Goodrich KO2, TOYO Open County A/T III, and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss M/T tires, just to name a few, list the dimensions of the respective 37x12.5 R17 tires as measured on a 10" wide rim.

This illustration compares the fit of a generic 35" tire mounted on two different wheels:

Other than having a slightly heavier wheel to achieve the final height, is there any other disadvantage to having the smaller width above?
