Boy this is the weirdest brake thread I have ever seen.
So all new brakes warp from normal use, so we all need to unmount and machine/turn our brand new brakes that come in our vehicles. OMG! The s$@# you read these days.
And people are still talking about turning/machining commodity brake rotors that cost <$100 when you change the pads? OMG! Do you also resole shoes that you buy for $30 and Payless?
OP. If your brakes were working fine before and just but the pads are low, inspect the rotors visually. If they don't have cracks or a noticeable lip (meaning they are worn), replace the pads and be done. If the rotors have a lip or cracks, replace them with new ones and be done. If you replace the rotors clear the hub face with a brush. Same for the wheel/rotor hat surface when you reinstall wheels.
P.S. OEM pads these days have gotten worse because of the CA zero copper mandate (that is prob the reason for Jeep changing the pads). So try to get aftermarket (e.g. Powerstop) pads.
Good luck.
