I moved from out west to the finger lakes region of NY. I've done everything from Blackbear pass in Colorado, to Hell's Revenge in Utah, and Oceano Dunes in California.

I'm looking for something fun within 4-5ish hours of central NY. I looked at Rausch Creek in PA, but it requires two vehicles minimum. Not really sure where to look. Even open to Canada.

If anybody local to the mid-altantic/north east jeep scene could recommend some places that would be appreciated! I'm open to any kind of beach sand dunes, rock crawling, or anything. Curious which locations people from this part of the country frequent.

Thanks!

About 10 of us from the Forum met up a few weeks back and @DonBucket led the way on some of the trails at Rausch Creek. We all had a blast. There are also trails down in the NJ Pine Barrens - it's probably close to that 5-6 hour drive as well from Upstate NY where you are located.

Definitely post in the "TriStates Roll Call" thread as well so you can introduce yourself. Welcome to the East Coast!

Central PA has 3 soon to be 4 parks and they are all close to eachother. Rausch Creek and Anthracite outdoor adventure area are the good ones for full size wheeling; AoAA is about 20-30 minutes closer to you and half the price of Rausch; Famous Reading offroad is not great; it's more geared to Bikes, Quads and SXS, then there is Paragon, I never made it before they closed. (name might change but its Catawissa recreation area for now.)

AoAA and Rausch are both worth hitting up, it will take multiple days at each park to do all the trails for each. there are a couple facebook groups for both parks to find someone to ride with and you could always just post up a ride here and see who can make it.

P.S. If it matters RC and AOAA both have BoH trails.

Welcome! I've been living in NYC for a little over a year, but just recently got my Jeep out here, and am also looking to do some exploring!

I travel a lot for work which also bleeds into my weekends, but that slows down for the fall/winter, and when I am around, I'm always down to hit the trails. My experience is in Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, so I have quite a bit of off-road miles under my belt in all different terrain types, but my preference is rock crawling and I loathe mud.

If you're free, I'm trying to put together a group to hit up AOAA and/or Rausch Creek over Labor Day weekend to collect some badges. Wheeling all day Saturday and Sunday, and camping somewhere in between or at one of the parks all weekend, depending on the in interest I get in putting a group together. Might be down to squeeze some wheeling in Monday morning as well, but will need to have time to get back to the city and wash the Jeep before it gets too late.

Let me know! All are welcome.
