My 2011 special edition Mojave( name didn’t fit then either), Jeep really needs to work on that. It was the ultimate mall crawler, ( the wife’s daily driver). A 4 inch skyjacker lift with 37/15.50s on 20x12 motto metal rims. Wasn’t a curb or speed bump I couldn’t take, and that’s a fact. Yes even those monster ones in front of chucky cheese! Nothing for me;)

Admit it, folks, 90% of Jeep owners use their Wranglers strictly for mall crawling, and the MOAB looks way cool. How many of us can realistically afford to actually take one of these $60k cars off road, and scratch it all up, dent it on rocks, etc.? Maybe even roll it over, and total it? Such off-roading should be left to blue smoke billowing with shot piston rings $6,000 old junker Wranglers, loaded with all sorts of stupid looking off-road bogus fake accessories.
Says the guy pimping the Gseries wagons.

You can put syrup on fecal cookies, but it won't make em pancakes!

Someone on this thread must have said that a Moab was a better rock crawler than a Rubicon? Not reading every post though. There's no way I'd take our Moab rock crawling. Leave that to the rock crawlers. We just use ours as a DD, hunting, fishing, grocery getting, mall crawler. Why the hate? I just don't understand.

You think the Moab is right for you but you're wrong. It doesn't have lockers. You can't even drive on a gravel driveway without lockers. You should get the Rubicon.
And according to Moab owners, you don't need lockers for anything but extreme rockcrawling. The difference is: people who've had them realize what they are, and how much better than work than LSD and BLD in just about any offroad situation. Just like Porsche, there really is no substitute (currently).

truth be told, would I put my MOAB through hells gate at MOAB? Hell no muth@fck@! A $55k jeep has no business being there. Is the name MOAB inappropriate, maybe yes. Thats all that is in question here right?

Bleh that should’ve been 2 door only.
2 door only aside.... The dealer had one that was awfully tempting for me but ultimately the JL won out.

Lockers are stupid. They don't do anything. I don't understand why anyone would buy a Jeep with lockers.

LSD - Limited Slip Differential
BLD - Braking Slip Differential.

For those like me who did not know what that meant and had to look it up

Basically, I had a hard time understanding the "purpose" of this special edition. Because yes, I agree that a $55K off the line Jeep shouldn't be opening Pandora's box of any off road trails the way this one is set up. Almost everything in the MOAB is literally IN the Jeep.

Honestly, there are things I want that are not offered in the Sport / Sport S. The Sahara and MOAB are JLU only. That right there left me looking at Rubicon. Do I need the lockers? Not for the level of offroad experience I have...but that doesn't mean I am not gonna go out there and get some experience! Granted, probably not gonna climb rocks anytime soon either.
