Go true dual rate. You dont need all of the adjustable arms for what youre doing. IF you decide you want more adjustability you can add some or all of them later on. There is a reason metalcloak offers both kits. No need to overspend at this point.

I have ran ko2s and falken at3ws and the falkens are hands down a better snow and ice tire. They are also just as quiet as the ko2.

If youre going with 37s, take the money saved by going true dual rate and use it to regear. Ive run 35s and 37s on stock gears (auto trans) and 37s can be done, but it really should be regeared.

All of my advice is from prior experience.

To chime in on tires, you may want to look at the Kenda Kelver RT's. Those tires are a rough terrain (RT) tire which is supposed to be a hybrid of A/T and M/T. They won the Pro 2 Off-Road Championship in Oct. 2020. I'm running the Klever AT2's and they're fantastic. They're also cheaper than BFG, Toyo, Nitto, or Falken's. They have them in 35x10.5, 35x12.5, and 37x12.5.
5 @ 35x12.5R17 go for $1,730 + install.
5 @ 35x10.5R17 are $1,488 + install.
5 @ 37x12.5R17 are $2,008 + install.

Let us know what you finally decide lift-wise.

Can you show a picture of them on your Jeep?

Looks good. I’ve been thinking about the same lift. How much of a lift did you get from it. I hear people saying 2 dr will get 3-4”. I think it looks just right, esp. with the size tires.

This is a Rubicon. I got 3” in rear and 2.5” in front.

If you have the patience I'd recommend going true dual and building the rest as you go and need things. You can buy all the parts themselves and build around the true dual.

If you have the money instead of patience do the opposite and go GC if you ever plan to upgrade things. If not true dual is probably overkill. I knew I'd eventually buy everything else so I just went GC. I'll get better shocks if I ever need them, haven't so far.

Jeeps a goat, crawls over everything.

It did stock too.

Thanks you all for the amazing suggestions and advice. @rkwfxd and @Chance_P - I hear you both. I realized I might end up doing a few upgrades later in the future if I go now with true dual. SO I just decided to go for GC 2.5 kit.

Here’s my current build (came with the car when I bought it used) so that you all get an idea of what weight the current suspension already supports, and what I just ordered to be installed next week.

Current build and mods:

* 2018 JLUR 6MT 3.6L V6 (Billet Silver) with stock Rubi 4:10 gears
* Stock Rubi 33s tires and wheels
* Factory Steel bumpers and rock sliders
* Smitybilt XRC Gen 3 9.5k Synthetic winch
* UpDown Air Gen 2 Air Delivery system installed under the hood
* ARB Twin onboard compressor installed in the engine bay
* Genesis Off-road Dual Battery kit with Genesis GScreen
* Outback Adventure Trailgater table
* Vector off-road cargo basket
* Rhino Rack Vortex crossbars and backbone system

Here’s what I just ordered to be installed next week:

* Metalcloak GC 2.5 full suspension lift kit with Rocksport long travel shocks and JL Front drive shaft
* Method 312 - Bronze with black lip - 17x9 -12 offset
* Falken Wildpeak AT3W 37x12.5xR17
*Smitybilt spare tire relocation bracket
* Steersmarts Yeti XD Shaft brace with frame side track bar reinforcement

I have been just doing 3-4 day camping and overlanding with the family ( 4 of us) with light off-roading. But with all of us loaded and packed in the car and the with the Thule cargo box on the roof rack , I suspect, and hope, the 2.5 GC will be perfect.

In the future, I will plan on the following
* re-gearing either to 4.88 or 5.13
* some underbody armor
* Step/Slider combo for the kids and wife

Suggestions/advice for the above 3 mods are much appreciated.

Thanks all

I would go ahead and relocate the steering stabilizer while your at it. It’s low hanging fruit in stock configuration and the lift gives you room to flip it over the top of the tie rod.

4.88 will be a little stronger on our dana 44s

* some underbody armor
If youre going steel, rustys gets my vote. It replaces the gas tank skid vs adding to it which gives you an additional inch of clearance.

* Step/Slider combo for the kids and wife
White knuckle offroad or LOD are a couple of choices that will give you a step AND actually take a beating.

Also, look into the metalcloak sector shaft and tb braces. It distributes the load from the sector shaft brace to a different location on the frame, instead of loading up the already strained trackbar area. I have my MC brace in hand but havent had time to install it yet so no real world experience yet.
