Absolutely. I just got my clevis opening widened today to accept the new 3/4" loops. I doubt I will try to modify the stock Maximus tie rod to fit the inside mount I went with for the loops. Hopefully this time next week I'll have something made & I'll sure share. Looking at the ready made parts available from Speedway (thanks sstuner!) you can make one to fit any configuration.

What is the center to center distance for the cross bar holes with 3/4" loops when inside mounted?

I recall he posted 8.5" off the outside mounting...

So 33.25 - 8.5 = 24.75
Does anyone think this is too narrow? Any downside other that it might not work with some bumpers? Will Maximus sell the quick connects separately if you need to build your own cross bar?

I have a Blue OX base plate I took off my JL and it is 24" apart so no that is not a problem infact I would assume it is better.

So at 24.75" the attached from speedway should work.
And only $41.95
You need to make sure the Heim Joint Rod Ends have a 1/2" hole for the clevis bolt or quick connect.

Thanks I just noticed that the 5/8 thread heims also have a 5/8" eye.
Duh!
I will do another search.

5/8" will work on NSA Ready Brute Elite 1 tow bar but not ready Brute Eleite 2, Roadmaster and Blue Ox they are 1/2"

I'm on my 4th toad & towed every one of them for 6 years+. Used Demco & BO base plates. Last toad was a 2014 Edge with a BO base & tabs were 26" & that was wider than some (most). The new Maximus loops on the inside are STILL wider than most base plate tabs at about 25'. Don't fret the width. I measured my clevis holes to be about 26.25". However with adding the heim & lock nut thickness I came up with a tube length of 24". Wanting to use almost all the thread of the heim I wasn't sure if 23.5" was best or 24" so I ordered both. My stuff lands Wed & I'll sure share my results. The pic makes the clevis's look like they are pointing outward but it's just the pic. They are perfectly straight forward.

I would like to go to the inside mount but having a winch prohibits the inside mounting whereas most if not all winch plates mount to the inside bumper bolts as well as the inside of the frame horn which would be a conflict with the Maximus loops. So if you plan to add a winch in the future or have one you will be limited to outside mounting only.

I have the Maximus 3 winch plate And loops. I’m pulling the loops off and adding a standard blue ox base plate instead. Will it fit with the Maximus 3 winch plate?if not what base plate will work with Maximus winch plate?

The blue Ox mounts to the outdside of the frame so not an issue for winch plates. I believe there is a version of the Roadmaster that may work with a winch plate, also both tie directly to the frame.

Follow up on tie rod to accommodate INSIDE the frame horns mounting. With my equipment (Ready Brute Elite II and NSA straight clevis's) a 24" tube is perfect. A shorter tube could be used and the distance would just be made up unscrewing the heim's. In this case the 24" (steel) tube keeps everything perfectly straight ahead with the heim's screwed in completely. I'll try to get out & tow as soon as I get a chance but in may have to be the fourth of July weekend.

I just spoke with someone at @Maximus-3 They indicated the tow loop failure was when a supplemental braking system either failed or was not used. They have the tie bar and quick disconnect solution, but it is backordered until next week. they did offer a 10% discount for those that purchased the tow loops previously. (This discount seems a bit weak, especially for customers that are now concerned about towing and damage to their jeeps.)

Several questions:

1. Is this tie bar a good solution to the problem, or a band aid?
2. Is the tow loop just generally a bad design and should be scrapped in favor of a more tried and true solution? (opened ended I know, but those that are more engineer oriented, it would be interesting to hear from you.)
3. Does the LOD bumper and their frame tie ins suffer from the same issue?

Thank you.
