Nope. It happened the third day we owned it. Stock. Before any wheeling

That there is some screwed up engineering. Now if that happens and you panic hit the brakes and pull on the wheel hard get under 50 or what ever speed it comes back your going to over correct. What a joke

I’m certainly no mechanic and don’t fully understand hydraulic steering systems but it seems the fluid is fighting each other when trying to turn left or right. Maybe due to faulty valves in the pump or steering box? Obviuosly just guessing here.

Interesting idea but it seems ESC only has the ability to apply break pressure and adjust engine torque. Not sure it can alter steering input unless the braking is not allowing the driver to steer.

You can turn off the ESC by pressing the button for 5 seconds. One push does a partial off (some esc features are still active). Press and hold for 5 seconds turns it off completely according to owner’s manual page 210.

What other vehicles are using electro-hyrdaulic power steering at this time?

I thought it may be a trailer sway damping kicking in?

I experienced this Saturday. The wind was gusting to 45-55mph and it was trying to blow me all over the road. The eteering suddeny stiffened up and I couldnt turn the wheel much. When I slowed down it disappeared. When was going with the wind it was completely gone and did not cme back.

Kevin, I hope this gets resolved. Hopefully this will get Jeeps immediate attention, and a fast resolution before someone gets seriously hurt.
I just traded in a Silverado that had a recent NTSB recall for power steerimg locking up at low speeds. And the solution was a software problem. Since most vehicles now have so many comouters doing 100 things, an imtermittant issue most of the time is software related.
My Jeep once in a while will show wierd things on the infortainment screen when I turn it on. Ill turn it off, open the door, and restart it, and it works fine. Maybe this will give some insight to @JeepCares

Or press the stability control off button? Next to the ESS on/off button.

I had something similar, but not quite. I was at a stop then accelerated and had to veer sharply to the left. It felt like the wheel didn't want to move, after turning, it gave loose and was able to steer normally. It hasn't happened again. I, too, think it's the electric assist, at least in my case. But in yours, assist or not, you would be able to steer. Did the problem go away as you slowed down? In your video, you have some play side to side, then it's able to turn around 50mph, right? High speed lock is dangerous. I would show the video to the service manager, not advisor (ticket writer) and request a tear down of the rack. It's all warranty, so they'll get paid. Steering, brakes and transmission: don't mess with or assume it will go away... If all else fails, I know a good lemon law attorney...

Have you checked where the steering box connects to the pitman arm? Great Grape Ape gave a good overview here:
