Anyone have first hand experience with both of these? I need to get some steps to help the kids get in but want them to double as sliders. Thought about RSE steps but seems like there are constant problems with them. I also really like Rusty's steps but seems like they are always out of stock.

Regarding things being out of stock. these days, there's not much that's sitting around on shelves. I don't have experience with Rusty's. But for this metal work it may be fabricated on demand. it's easier to contact them and check lead times. In my case, things have been shipped within a few weeks.

For kids I’d recommend the Destroyers. I did not have Ace sliders, but did have LOD Signatures on my JLUR. I had to install grip tape but it wears out over time. The destroyers can still be slick if you don’t put your foot down flat, but nowhere near as bad as round tubes.

Isn't that the truth. I did contact them and they are hoping to have some back in stock soon.

Thanks. Signatures is what I really wanted but didn't figure they would do much good as a step.

My JLUR is lifted 6" over stock height and on 40's. My 4'10.5" wife very much appreciates the LOD Destroyers...

How have the Destroyers held up on rocks, ect.? Are they as strong as the Signatures?

Ended up going with the Signatures. The Jeep isn’t my daily and is being built with some moderate off-roading in mind so I sacrificed some on the steps to get a slider that I know will take abuse.

I gave them a number of whacks in Windrock Park last September after the Jeep Invasion. Also used them to pivot around a couple of boulders and a tree stump. Just some scratches. I did slide off of one boulder and into another, while driving in a 2' deep stream, and it left a small dimple that I didn't notice until a few weeks later. Otherwise, they seem to be holding up great. I live in a wet and salty environment and rarely wash my Jeep, but still not one sign of rust.

The Signatures are definitely a bit stronger than the Destroyers, simply because they don't protrude quite as far outward.

I have the ACE and have landed on them a few times with the full weight of the vehicle and they have held up really well. Not as nice of a step as the LOD, but they are angled up better in my opinion for clearance.

I had seen a thread about Destroyers causing body damage due to being pushed into the body. LOD sometime in mid 22 redesigned how these mount to the frame to address the issue.

A fellow forum member, possibly the same one you saw, had the Destroyers and they caused some rocker damage. He did say that it wasn't immediate, but rather after numerous hard hits before the sliders made their way to the body. And thats regularly rock crawling harder trails.
New design:

I have the original welded version. I'm aware of the revised design, but didn't know that they were stronger. I thought they were just easier to install, not having to wrestle the whole assembly at once. I also thought they might've been easier to manufacture, since they are the same design as the aluminum "lite" version that came out in-between the two in the above pic. Just my assumptions, as I haven't looked further into them.

If looking for ultimate strength, nothing beats a slider that's welded to the frame rails. Next Venture Motorsports has an interesting setup, but the price makes my knees tremble.

I just picked up a set of Ace sliders awaiting to be installed. They are very solid, well made and can mount in tandem with rubicon oem rails. Try the secondary market for take offs since some previous Jeep owners strip them off and resell them at a discount. They weigh about 50 pounds each, fyi.

Actually have NV slider's waiting to be welded on to the JLURXR. Looking for sliders for wife's JLR that incorporates a step since she would like that and these seem to be a good design.
