No codes thus far. It has only reached high 70s so not really tested in hot weather but I doubt there are any issues. Looks very similar to OEM just has a key.
We've had low to mid 90s and no problems with the aftermarket cap. Note: there is no retaining cord on the cap and no holder for the cap on the Jeep. I unlock the cap, unscrew it, relock the cap, and put it on the rear bumper. Just have to remember to put it back on at the end.

Bought the Stant 10508 at Walmart a few days ago and have had no issues. I put it on the fender where I can see it. If I put it on the bumper I'd probably drive off without it. lol

I honestly did not think many ppl stole gas from tanks anymore, I have had lots of vehicles and not one of them has had a locking cap or door but I normally don’t park in areas where some crac head will stick a hose into my tank to steal gas, also I have considered adding a locking hood but honestly what could be stolen from under the hood, maybe the battery ?

Timely topic as just had gas stolen out of one of my cars a few weeks ago in Laughlin Nevada. Hotel covered parking lot over night. Thought that crap was a thing of the past but i guess as gas gets more expensive it will become an issue once again.
Appreciate the info regarding the Stant locking cap. Hoping it doesn't throw codes and may be a purchase in the immediate future.

Just another review. I’ve had it installed since the end of February as it was one the first “mods” for the Jeep. No codes thrown.

To unlock you turn the key counterclockwise and twist the cap the same way.

To lock you turn the cap to the right 3x.

FYI others online have complained that it’s possible to take the cap off by pushing in and twisting but in my experience that only happens immediately after locking it.

I bought the Mopar locking cap that you code to your key. I like having the same key.
What is the process for coding to fit your fob key? Can you do this yourself or do you have to have the dealer do it? If so, what was the cost for that?

I ordered the mopar cap from “vacavilledodgechryslerjeep” on eBay and they were able to code it to my key based on my VIN number for no charge.

That's good, I have heard some places charge. Now I know I can do it when I get the hood lock.

In the 14 years that I owned my Ram, I don't think that I ever had any gas stolen from it. In fact, I once tried to siphon some gas out of it and I could not get the hose down far enough to even get the end of the hose wet and the tank was over half full. But then again, my truck had the gas cap lid that closed over it and maybe the thieves thought that lid locked, so they didn't even try.
