Locking Gas Cap

Just an FYI should others wonder....

The gas cap on the new JL is the same as previous years. I have to leave my Jeep in some questionable places and wanted the piece of mind. Went to a couple parts stores but no one could confirm or deny what parts fit the new JL.

I just decided to try the one Walmart sells (Stant 10508) and it works.

I also bought a cam lock off Amazon and was going to mod the fuel door to make it lock but got cold feet with the drill in hand.

I saw a fuel door on ebay for $100. You think it's legit? What's the lowest the Mopar ones go for?

I know this is irrelevant to the lock cap..

A hundred is a decent price if you desire OEM.
I have dealt with this vendor in the past. No problems with them. They are getting $100.

Certainly not that one, it is virtually the same as the Stant. I did see one around $85 that was key alike with the fob key. Almost caught my eye but I’m going to stick with Stant for now.....

Which one (URL?) was key alike with the fob key for $85? Was it the Mopar locking gas cap?

This part number matches the one you posted from cjponyparts so I'm guessing they just used an old picture which is NOT the key alike version.

No codes thus far. It has only reached high 70s so not really tested in hot weather but I doubt there are any issues. Looks very similar to OEM just has a key.
