Locking Gas Cap

Are you guys putting something over the caps? The letters take away from the car, I’m waiting for my JL but I’m assuming the stock cap is all black.

Picked up my JLU today and the parts guy said there was no locking gas cap that can be keyed for the ignition key. But I’ve seen the videos online on how to key it!

Anyone have the part number???

Bought mine from Bam, it took 10 minutes to key to jeep

Just an FYI should others wonder....

The gas cap on the new JL is the same as previous years. I have to leave my Jeep in some questionable places and wanted the piece of mind. Went to a couple parts stores but no one could confirm or deny what parts fit the new JL.

I just decided to try the one Walmart sells (Stant 10508) and it works.

I also bought a cam lock off Amazon and was going to mod the fuel door to make it lock but got cold feet with the drill in hand.

I tried this gas cap, it fit perfectly but the key mechanism is just poor, I’m returning it because I was concerned the the mechanism was so shitty it would someday not work or break and I’d not be able to get it off.

I bought that cap fits great but crappy lock mechanism. Returned was worried it would not open one day
