I just wanted to pass along some kudos to Armorlite for absolutely incredible customer service.

My wife and I purchased a full Armorlite kit for our JL 2-door at Jeep Beach, and we chose to have the install done onsite by a third party that Armorlite had partnered up with for the show (Aggressive Krawlers out of SC). To say that the guys from Aggressive Krawlers botched the install would be putting it lightly.
  • When replacing the front kick panels, they shoved the door connector together crooked, which broke part of the harness off and bent several pins inside the harness. (Thankfully we were able to fix most of it and get the door buttons working again.)
  • They installed the rear side panels overtop of the cargo mat, so the rear seat belts are pulling against a big slab of flooring that is supposed to be tucked under the cargo mat.
  • The worst of it was the cuts done on the cargo mat. We asked to have cutouts done for the rear seat attachment points, the tie downs, and the speaker sub. They haphazardly cut the holes for the rear seat so badly that several holes were overcut by an inch, and the holes that the rear bench actually lock into place on weren't even accessible. The back seat would just flop forward because the poorly cut flooring was blocking the clasp from engaging. And then they just didn't even bother cutting the rest that we had asked.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to see any of this until long after we had picked the vehicle up and we realized the door buttons weren't working (which prompted us to investigate the entire install). I reached out to Aggressive Krawlers about it, and they asked me to text them some pictures, which I did. Then they just went radio silent and stopped responding to me.

I was incredibly frustrated, so I reached out to Armorlite for some help. Even though I firmly believe it was Aggressive Krawlers's mistake to correct, Michelle at Armorlite wasted no time. She asked me for photos, and with no further fuss, she asked for my address to send me a replacement cargo mat for free!

All that to say: If you don't have an Armorlite flooring, I promise you it's a great investment. Their service was incredible. Thank you so much!

what do you think of the sound difference in the Jeep after the Armorlite? I have a 2dr JLR and have been considering the full kit myself.

I don’t have the side panels for the cargo area yet, but I do have the rest of the flooring and it is absolutely night and day.

Sounds levels in Jeeps have never really bothered me, and I used to run no carpets in my old JKU, but I noticed the difference just backing out of the driveway. If you’re looking for a way to quiet down the interior, this is a great way to do it.

Also, it doesn’t get slippery when it’s wet! I put mine in with snow on the ground and usually my wet boots slide badly with the factory mats, but with these they feel tacky (in a good way) even while wet. I’m a short guy so it makes climbing into the Jeep a lot easier.

this isn't helping me not spend money. But good info, thanks.
The sound levels don't bother me either, partly because it's a lot quieter than my TJ was. I do notice the loudness during highway travel to trails when I have company.

It’s one of those things where you really don’t know what you’re missing until you experience it… so don’t get in a JL with Armorlite! Or do… I like spending other people’s money. 🤣

how easily does the rear cargo flooring lift up to access the cubby storage/subwoofer? Watching the install video, I can see that it installs on top of the subwoofer carpet, so it can probably lift up to access back there? I'd probably choose not to make a cut out in the Armorlite cargo floor for the subwoofer.

Favor to ask--could you post some photos of the new replacement Armorlite cargo liner when it has the holes properly cut for rear seat? I'm curious how much cutting is required and how it looks.

Since I use the back seat rarely, I might consider not cutting into it for back seat install, and just not using the Armorlite cargo floor when I have the back seat in use. 95% of the time I don't have the back seat in, but when kids are in town visiting as a couple, then I need the back seat and it sounds from the instructions like it can be a bit of a pain to install the back seat over the Armorlite (even if the holes are cut out properly). The instructions say you may need to sit down in the back seat to get the rear latches to hook up.

However, I'm guessing the cargo liner is a big help with sound deadening, and road tripping with the kids is a main reason it would be nice to quieten the Jeep interior. So maybe it would be worth it to have the quieter Armorlite cargo liner in there under the back seat. Hmm.

Ideally, I'd have an extra un-cut Armorlite cargo liner to use when the back seat is not installed.

Welp, there goes my wallet again. Great thread, I have been waiting for a report on a 2-dr with Armorlite for awhile...good stuff.

I will second the kudos to Armorlite. I only have the rear cargo mat in mine. However, there is a spot where it is removing the paint from the bottom of the tailgate. I inquired about this from Armorlite and Michele jumped on it for me also. I sent in images as she said it should not be happening. She got back with me and informed me of the redesign to allow the strap through it and said they will ship one out to me as a replacement once they are in production. Indeed some amazing customer service. I am truly impressed.

I'm living in NYC at the moment, with my Jeep is stranded back in Michigan until June, so this is the only picture I have until then:

It's stiff, but flexible enough to get to the cargo/subwoofer cubby if needed and very easy to remove this section. It just sits on top of the floor pan.

This stuff is incredibly difficult to cut, which I love, but makes me hesitant to cut the holes for the rear seat mounting points and tie downs.

I had to cut a small section to mount my AEV jack base in the passenger side footwell, and it was not an easy task:

What I will likely do is cut the bare minimum to get access to the seat tie downs, and potentially just slits in the mat to pull the tie down hooks through. Not sure how it will turn out because it is so thick, but I will post pictures here (if I can find the thread again) and in my build thread once I try it.

I also like the idea of using my old WeatherTech mat, or having a second Armorlite cargo liner for when I need the rear seat installed, but I usually use those loops without the rear seat anyways to tie down my cooler (Yeti 65). The cooler sits absolutely perfect between the seat mount points and in the lowered section of the floor. I cut a couple of ratchet straps just for this, and run them through the Yeti tie down loops and the thing doesn't budge at all off road. Honestly, it's almost like Jeep designed it that way.

Anyways, you can see slight perforations in the liner where you are supposed to cut sections out for use of the tie downs and rear seat. The sections for the tie downs also have perforations for the trail rail system, so you do not need to cut that entire section if you don't want to.

Have any pics of the damage? And the strap to access the subwoofer/storage cubby?

I may just put some ppf on the tailgate to prevent this, rather than look for a replacement. I received mine as a gift, so probably no warranty for me.

Here ya go. These are the ones I sent to them. I have since just cut the mat at the ridge line so there is no further damage. Since it still sits with a hump, it makes me wonder if it is either due to being a bit too wide or from opening the floor.

Interesting. I will have to check mine out! Maybe your mat had something abrasive on it that scratched the tailgate when you closed it?

The damage you have would not bother me much, but I would prefer all my dents and scratches to come from trail use.

It didn't bother me other than the fact it wasn't me that did it. Id prefer, like you, to be the one to cause any oopsies lol. Dont get me wrong, I dont want to purposely damage any vehicle but I seem to not worry as much about the Jeep. Hell its only been washed twice this year. Usually, I wash my vehicles every two weeks lol.

I sacrificed a chisel to cut mine. A couple layers of cardboard underneath it and a hammer/chisel made the cutting faster. Fucked up the chisel though when it inevitably made it through the cardboard.
