Key fob guestion

It's probably a low battery in the fob and I'm going to change it, but.....

It's not uncommon for me or my wife to leave these fancy key fobs in the vehicle. It's happened to me with my 2022 Ranger, and today it happened to my wife with the Jeep.

She was visiting her brother and left the fob in the Jeep for about 90 minutes. When she got ready to leave the "no fob detected" notification popped up.

Is it possible that the vehicle goes into a anti theft mode after a period of time with the fob present but no ignition activity?

There is no "anti theft mode after a period of time with the fob present but no ignition activity".

Suggest that you and your Wife, do not leave the fob in the vehicle. Yes, change the battery in each of your factory fobs, asap.

Leaving a fob in a vehicle is an invitation to having it stolen. Put yours in your pocket and have momma leave hers in her purse-you can thank me later.
