This is what I bought:

OBDII Adapter (plugs into the OBDII port)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088LW211V?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Security Gateway Bypass (your security gateway cable plugs into this)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DLB6VH6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

SGW Extension Cable (plugs into where your security gateway cable went after you unplug it)
https://www.zautomotive.com/product/z_sgw_ext/

The extension cable is highly, highly recommended. The SGW plug is way up in there and a pain to get to - this basically "moves" the plug to be more convenient, so you can easily remove/re-install the ECRI as needed (like if/when you take it to the dealership, etc)

The OBDII adapter plugs into the OBDII port - easy peasy.
For the ECRI, you'll need to pop off the trim panel underneath your steering wheel, and then look way up in there - you'll see the plug/cable - there are two plugs side-by-side that match the ECRI, and they have little tabs to push to release them. You'll unplug this, and plug that into the ECRI.

You would then plug the SGW Extension Cable in where you just unplugged the other cable from. The end of the SGW extension and the ECRI then basically just shove up in there - you could twisty-tie if you wanted, but mine are just loose. They do NOT connect to one another.

If/when you need to remove, just unplug the cord from the ECRI and connect it to the loose end of the SGW extension. If you don't do this, then when you take it to a dealer and they connect *their* OBDII diagnostic tool, it'll throw an error (because the security is being bypassed) and cause issues.

You *could* do without the extension, but once you see where the security gateway cable plugs in, you'll easily justify the cost.

3.45 gears still suck for 35s on the freeway but my jeep is night and day better since using this

No more extreme downshifting or sloppy shift points around town. Holds 5th and 6th on steep inclines no problem

I am bringing back this old thread I started a couple years ago. Because my profile picture shows I am that guy anyway

But has anybody had issues with the Jscan App?

Specifically causing in dash errors and lights too activate. I hooked up my cables a few days ago to update my tire size again and immediately after when I started jump the Jeep, all my service 4wd lights and sway bar and a few others were cycling, ing through the dash, as well as my cruise control not working.

It seems like since I hooked up to the reader that I've irritated the ECU. The dealership says that it might be a bad transfer case range position sensor causing the issue.

I did notice that a couple years ago when id do a diagnostic with Jscan that it would tell me to select the Power on Reset afterwards, but now it just tells you to shut off ignition and open and close the drivers door and wait 5 minutes.

Thanks with any help or experiences similar to this!
