JL Delivery Checklist

Might want to add inspect undercarriage. Mine was produced in December and apparently followed a brine truck around Ohio. Discovered when I inspected my new steering stabilizer. The salt was so caked on SEVERAL underbody washes and NO affect...At selling dealer now who is working on clean up.

Lucky you! I took delivery of a brand new 2019 Raptor a couple years back and it was as rusted as a 1980 Toyota with 400 miles on it… Why? Because the drive it from IA to IL to transfer dealers in a snowstorm and no one thought to clean it for the 5 months it sat at the dealer

Figured it may be a good idea to isolate a single thread to find information on what should be coming with your new JL, as I’m sure some folks have gotten shafted already and not received all the little extras upon delivery. Not everyone knows that info, so here’s what I have gathered thus far (feel free to chime in and I’ll edit if I’m missing items):

1. Two sets of keys
2. Jeep mini ratchet set/Torx (for hardtop/windshield/doors)
3. Lugnut key (if you have locking lugs)
4. Freedom top storage bag (if equipped)
5. Carpet floor mats standard (but not if all season mats are equipped)
6. JL Wrangler Owners Manual/Warranty guide (may just be in your Jeep’s infotainment system only). Not 100%, but can be printed if requested directly through Jeep.
7. Jeep hitch receiver rubber insert (if trailer towing group is equipped)
8. Towing Pkg only: small baggie with tubing and splices.
9. Rubicon only: MOPAR Black Fuel Filler Door
10. Block heater option, you need to be sure you get the removable cord that is part of the block heater kit (and look under your hood for it if not in a separate bag)
11. Rear Cargo cubby rubber mat (on 4 door)
12. Rubber mats inside your center console
13. Velcro straps if you have a sun rider top
14. If you get the Trail Management Cargo System, the cargo compartment floor-mat is included
15. Trail Management Cargo System option should include 6 tie down blocks

Also, ensure you get registered for the “Jeep Wave Program” because your new JL will receive complimentary maintainence for a period of time, which is now 3 years/36 months!
ADDITIONALLY:

- Check fuse panel and ensure all fuses are pushed in

- Check welds

- inspect your top for damage

- Ensure all your flares match (have seen photos of one or two being painted and the others not)

CONFIRMED NOT INCLUDED:
Windshield tie downs

No. 8 should be for AUX Switches not Towing Package.

Towing “Package” is bundled with the AUX switches, but technically you’re correct. It’s specifically for the aux switches

Another item to add. If you get the extreme recon package they give you a spacer block so the factory jack will be able to be used. I have included some pictures.

Is this no longer included in 2022? Picked up a JLUR XR yesterday and when I asked my dealer about this he said that is now an extra $35 or so option you had to put on your build order.

Update: the $35 option he must have meant is the Mopar 82215669AB Rear Cargo Tub Liner, which is a different thing.

So my question is then, do 4 Door Wranglers still come with this thin rear cargo cubby mat? Because mine did not.

A somewhat off-topic question but still part of the PDI checklist - Can I ask for the plastic to NOT be removed, in addition to skipping the car wash? I'd like to do that myself.

What am I missing?

This is a great list. Wish I’d seen it when I took delivery last April. But everything was there and good to go. Happy with my dealer experience.

I will add one thing to look for though: there are 2 small, triangular plastic moldings (one each side) where the front door/window’s A-pillar member meets the horizontal line of the door. They’re nearly hidden behind the mirrors. These small pieces of molding are held in place by two plastic nubs inserting into the door’s metal - and are prone to being dislodged when they (or you) power wash. I noticed the driver side missing two days after getting it home. Drove it in, they pulled one out of a drawer, unwrapped it from the plastic and slapped it in.

Look at the number of build sheets decreasing as well. Looks like we're seeing the end of the '22 MY builds. And I think it's build time not arriving. Delivery is a whole other thing. I could be wrong, though.

Built, not arriving. Four weeks from the final week of 2022 orders is last week, so yes....the max couldn't be more than four weeks. The numbers are also really small for recent weeks, so the percentages can be very misleading.

What about major technical concerns - what to check first after (or before?) delivery?
For example:
- can I do anything to prevent the death wobble altogether ? (checking some screws etc?)
- how is it with factory recalls - a new vehicle should have everything up to date, yay or nay?
- anything else I should think of?
