Just throwing this out there, I have JK Recon Rubicon wheels and tires on my JL currently (Jeep dealer had them on there already) I checked how the lug nuts mate in with the contact surface with the wheel. Looked good. 20180313_185859.jpg
I'm about to put those same exact wheels on my JL Sport. Can you kindly provide any more feedback now that you've presumably been rolling on them for a while? Any safety issues? Did you ditch the backup camera locking cover (won't fit anymore)? Are the wheels/tires flush with the fender flares (like the stock Sport tires are)? Thanks in advance.

The camera cover thing is gone. Never really see a purpose for it anyways other than it's a little harder for people to steal your spare. The dimensions of the JK wheels are exactly the same as the JL other than the lug mounting holes are a little smaller on the JK as far as I know. The nut angle is still 60 degrees or whatever so the larger JL lug nuts fit just fine. So really , it just depends on what tires you put on it. If you put the tires that came of your JL onto the JK wheels, should be no change.

Those wheels look awesome on yours so I'm excited to put mine on. Thanks a lot!

No prob. I'll be putting 315/70-17 KO2s on mine as soon as I get the rest of my Rock Krawler lift kit. I love how the recon wheels look so I'm excited to see it with beefier tires.

I’m thinking of doing the opposite. Putting my oem JL Rubicon wheels and tires on my wife’s Jk. Has anyone done this? Are there anything I should be watching out for. I know I have to use her lug nuts.

You shouldn't have any problems. The only issues are lug nuts, as you already know, and tire sizes. From my research, recent JK wheels and JL wheels are pretty much interchangeable.

I hope so. I was wondering if there would be any rubbing problems or clearance issues with her JK with my JL wheels and tires. I’m hoping so, I’ll find out soon!

I got a deal I couldn’t pass up on for these wheels and tires.

Those wheels look right at home on the JL. Very nice. I noticed the backup camera cover/lock thingy is on there. Did you have to modify it in any way? Mine does not fit anymore.

Nope. It goes on and locks, just isn't as flush against the wheel like it was with the stock wheel.

I'm beginning to think there are different covers (part numbers) for different wheels! Is there any way you can post a close up pic of it? With the cover on and off? It's much appreciated.

Best I can do for now....it’s getting dark.

This confirms my suspicion! My cover is about two inches longer to fit the base steel wheels my JL came with. I'll post a picture tomorrow. Now I have to decide to go without the cover or buy this shorter cover you have. Thanks for the pics.

Anyone put JK Willy’s Wheels on a JL Sahara? Would there be any issues with brake clearance going from an 18” Wheel to 17”?
