Hello everyone. I'm completing a camper-trailer build and in order to avoid carrying both a trailer spare and a vehicle spare, I'd like to put Jeep hubs on the trailer so that I could use the Jeep's spare wheel/tire should the trailer get a flat. My local guy told me that JL wheel studs are slightly bigger diameter than JK wheel studs, but that it wouldn't be a problem fitting a JL wheel on the JK hub (presumably because the holes in the JL wheel are slightly bigger than a JK wheel's holes).

I am therefore considering putting JK hubs on the trailer's axle. Am I missing anything here? Sound like a viable approach?

I am assuming that my local Jeep shop suggested this approach because JK hubs and wheels would be less expensive than JL.

Thanks,

Myron

Both wheels are 5x5 lug pattern. The mechanic is correct about the actual size of the bolt studs being used on the JK and JL wranglers. Use the correct size lug nuts for the size bolt in the trailer axle
