This brand...Absolute frustrating software garbage.

All of a sudden CarPlay is not working. Connected to wireless CarPlay. I left the vehicle to drop off some recycling. Come back and my phone doesn't show up in CarPlay. It's grayed out.

I try to connect/reconnect/hard wire/wireless/reboot/turn off/turn on/forget device/delete device...all the usual bullsh*t. And I'm left with a wirelessly connected phone that doesn't allow CarPlay -- or have a popup on the phone to enable it -- and a wired connection phantom iPhone for CarPlay which does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I can't even click it.

So two questions:

1) Has anyone solved this and
2) If not, what truck did you trade your Jeep in for?

Yeah it won't work with any phone or cable. Unbelievably frustrating. And literally nothing happened to cause this.

I assume you checked the iPhone as well? Make sure carplay is enabled. If all seems good try a reset on the phone too. Happened with my RAM, turned out it worked after a quick reset

Yes, try rebooting your phone. I have the rare odd issue where something won't work and a phone reboot resolves.

I have a honda car play that every once and a while just won't connect to my iPhone, works perfectly fine on every other car play including my jeep. Rebooted the iPhone and bang carplay starts working again.

The system takes 10 minutes or so to fully power down after vehicle shut off. Have you let it sit for a while, then gone back and tried again?

There is also a menu item projection or something. Make sure it's enabled

Two things I've done to solve my carplay issues. First, I plugged in from the usb port in the front. That solved most issues. I've also rebooted the head unit instead of the iPhone. That last one solves most issues I have.

If I remember correctly on the MY24 if you hold the power button for the radio for X seconds it resets it. It’s likely just a reconnect bug.

SOLVED: Apple CarPlay not connecting/displaying/reconnecting.

Tried:
Turning off/on bluetooth
Forgetting Bluetooth device
Rebooting phone
Another phone previously connected
Another phone NOT previously connected
Hard connection
New cables
And everything else

Only thing that finally worked:

Rebooted head unit.

I have to laugh
My brother has been an Apple guy for 30 years.
Tells me I should get Apple this, Apple that and Apple the other.

On this forum, many Apple people have an issue
My brother has a modern Mazda and has this issue

In the meantime, Android Auto just keeps on keeping on :)

FACTS!!! I’ve been an Andriod user for over 10 years…never had a problem with my phone connecting to my cars. Just decided to go to the dark side a few months ago and got an iPhone. It takes 2-3 minutes to connect/reconnect & reboot before leaving my driveway! :headbang: As soon as this plan is over…it’s BACK 2 ANDROID!!!

@HipCheck , I have the same issue on my brand new 2025 JL, but a simple reset of the head unit didn't solve it. When you say reboot, was that a factory reset, a radio reset or the push the radio on/off button for 10 secs?
