Some might not be thrilled about removing rock rails and installing a step solution but it's really easy. 11 bolts. Just get a torque wrench based on the step solution you use. I picked these up on Amazon (they're like $284 right now) as a low risk solution and couldn't be happier so far. Took...
Might be what I was used to. Had a 2018 JLU with Alpine w/sub, so when I went into the 24 without the upgrade, it was a BIG shock. I'll always be wanting that sub thump (until I get one probably). This hasn't satisfied me yet, but maybe a solution in the sound bar will be enough.
I did the TAs as well, and it's an upgrade, but not a game changer. I'm waiting on some plug and play sound bar solution -- which I can't believe hasn't happened yet.
Oddly enough I think music sounds best with Bass all the way up and both mid and treble basically flat.
Yeah, I’m sure this is the protocol. They’ll go thru this with every Wrangler having this issue.
1) Reprogram
and if that doesn’t work…
2) Valves
and if that doesn’t work…
3) New transmission
Then it’s fixed (according to people in this thread)
Good question. I haven't heard of it working.
Made my appointment for mid-May to get mine checked out. It's sporadic, but it's there. I had it happen at about 35mph today.
I have this exact issue with a 24 JLUR V6. I'm hoping it's adaptive shift strategy learning before calling the dealer. Have 800 miles on it, but my 2018 didn't have any shift issues like this.
That's terrible. Good luck with it.
I'd be at the dealership every day warning potential buyers to stay away until the dealer finally pushed corporate. I'd be absolutely livid.
My 2018 JLU I just traded in was like this. At some point, ESS stopped working and I never noticed it. Eventually, it had trouble starting occasionally and then I had to replace the main battery. Oddly the ESS started working after that.
On my new one, I just installed the autostart...
True. I think this is the install vid for the sub and part of me just doesn't want the brand new Jeep ripped apart like this either, but this 12" sub is big.
Not sure about the Alpine, but I was looking at the Kicker Hideaway because I'd rather have it under the passenger seat than put a big JL in the back. Audio installer told me he didn't think I'd be happy with any underseat powered sub and is really pushing the JL with an amp under the passenger...
I've been looking into this and -- perhaps against better judgement -- am putting in Terra Acoustics in the dash tomorrow. You have to use them for 5 hours with a flat EQ to break them in. That's not going to be fun, but I'll do it.
Really the options according to the car audio shops I've been...
