Feel free to report any political posts, but be warned that doing so means that you'd be part of the obvious conspiracy against our freedom of speech.
I was warned by the forum guardian nothing personal or political.

You are missing the point, you paid for the cover. That cover probably cost Jeep $50, multiply that by just say 100,000 vehicles, that works out to about $500,000. By the way, your intake manifold is plastic. Have a nice day.
I know I did not pay for an engine cover. Nowhere to be found on my build sheet.
Personally I’m glad I didn’t.
Just one more bullshit thing to move out of the way when doing my oil changes or cleaning.
There’s still a ton of red dirt in my engine bay from Moab and I can only imagine how much more would have gotten trapped under one.

Actually I probably could have sold it. Oh well.

Actually it is on a tag or axle housing or old cover plate, which I don’t have anymore. I also don’t know the coding. It is probably on the window sticker also as you had to select it.
Your VIN is on the driver's door jam:

Yeah, that's why I posted mine to hopefully make it obvious that it's not something to be worried about.

Some Indian scammer call center is going to dial your U-Connected phone while you are sitting in your Jeep, ask if you are the owner of a Jeep with that VIN.

You will respond "Yes, why yes I am".

The scammers will respond with "we have important security news for you, someone has stolen the engine cover on your Jeep. In order to file the appropriate FBI and CIA and Interpol reports and have your engine cover returned, we need you to go to the nearest Best Buy and purchase $2469. worth of Amazon gift cards and read the numbers off to us in order to get the cover back."

Of course you will comply. Once the panic wears off you will of course check engine bay and see that your engine cover is there and that, PHEW, you were almost the victim of a crime. And you avoided it by sharing your VIN with the friendly members of JLWRANGLERFORUMS.COM (definitely not the other JL forum hosted by pony-tail guy).

And yet you apparently bought one?
I certainly did. There's no rule that says one can only buy high quality, cheap vehicles. But one must be honest with oneself about what they are driving, and I am.

At the risk of disappointing you further, it's no longer a metal tag on the diff cover. They put a sticker on the axle tube now.

They probably didn't discount your Jeep by the cost differential either.

And I know it's not on the invoice.

It has 4.56 gears, it’s on the window tag.

If I remember correctly the only way to get 4.56 gears from the factory in 2022 was with an XR. What specifically makes you think that you didn't get a real XR?
