If we're being accurate, the survey concerns initial quality which is about neither comfort or projected long term reliability.I honestly think it's more comfort issues than reliability nonsense for why most folks would be happier in a Taco or 4R. They want IFS steering and ride/handling, while also pretending they have a rugged truck because of the SRA.
And those who live in snowy areas and want a safe vehicle with decades of solid engineering. (And yes, I realize that they are re-engineered often. That doesn't negate everything they've learned, though.)Exactly. Just a few groups it really fits - beach bums who want a convertible that can ride on the beach, people who like off roading and understand why a Jeep is a Jeep, folks who camp and need to be able to handle unimproved roads and such, and mayyyyybe a portion of the people who want a convertible but need an SUV - many of these though would hate living with a solid axle vehicle, so it's a toss up.
Yeah I got to say that's a step up from everything I've heard. Everything I've heard it says that Wranglers are trash when it comes to reliability, which mind you is contrary to my personal experience, but who am I to argue with the internet.Jeep is rated average reliability. Not so bad, certainly not what I expected after spending some time in the jeep forums.

Gotcha beat, 2006 Commander over 280k miles.I'm acutely aware of the Jeep brand reputation, but I am on my 4th Jeep, 3 Wranglers and a Grand, and (knock on wood) they have been tanks for the most part. Still have a 2012 grand that even with 153k miles is in great shape and runs like a top, and is unstoppable in NE winters...
The forum definitely gets more complaints than compliments. But to assume that ALL the complainers come here is just silly. Just as there are many times more happy customers out there that haven't signed up here, there are many times more complainers out there too. Also, if you compare this forum to forums for other vehicles, you'll find that there are so many more recurring posts about chronic issues. That's the big indicator really. That and the list of known chronic issues is so much longer for the Wrangler than for any other vehicle that I can think of. I have no doubt there are others out there that have similar lists, but it's not a big club.Let's hope they are the 8s. But, reading about all the problems on this forum indicates otherwise. Or, it could be that the forum gets more of the complaints instead of the applauses.
I’m definitely a person who does none of this. If I’m honest, I bought it because I wanted to able to do all that in an SUV that I didn’t really want to buy but needed to for the family, so I got the one that I liked more than all the RAV4 clones.Exactly.
I don't hold much credence in what JD Powers says, however, I am surprised that there are any GM vehicles in the top tiers.Jeep is rated average reliability. Not so bad, certainly not what I expected after spending some time in the jeep forums.
