I'll just keep repeating the same thing until posters take heed. Both engines are fine. Not spectacular. Not horrible. Pick whatever vehicle comes with the options/colors you want and gets you the best deal. Whatever engine comes in it, hooray.

1 caveat. If you live at high elevation, get the turbo.

To add to your comment, both engines were designed for much lighter vehicles.

The biggest difference is throttle response. The 3.6 is much more linear, so it is more suitable for off road.

Does Offroad+ solve some of your complaints?

I've only used it once on my 2025 2.0T.

Dusty is a bit of a sensationalist when it comes to the issues with wheeling the Turbo. 50k miles with TONS off road in my 2.0 and I have never thought the throttle response was an issue.

Me either. The torque is really nice.

Agreed. I have one of each -I prefer my 2021 Willys with the 3.6 v6 but the wife prefers her 2022 Rubicon with 2.0t.

Both are great. Go test drive them and see which you prefer

Where I live in Western WA, on dealer lots, the 3.6 outnumbers the 2.0 about three to one, from my anecdotal scouring of auto trader.

I really wanted to find a 2.0, I've only ever driven one and it was a rental back in 2019 I think. I liked the low end torque, especially as I've had a diesel in the driveway for the better part of fifteen years.

The 3.6 just "annoys" me - you have to rev the piss out of it. It's fine, but it's not great.

I simply couldn't find a 2.0 with the options I want within a 300 mile radius from me. I'm not patient enough to order one.

Eventually, naturally aspirated engines will be replaced by smaller, turbo engines. I believe we're likely less than 5 years from seeing the end of the NA V6, as emissions rules (particularly in CARB states) will get more stringent. I was reading yesterday an article that said the Return of The Hemi won't be happening in CARB states due to emissions rules. Turbos are here to stay. I guess we should learn to love them...

I agree. I've wheeled at sea level, at 13,000, and in between, and I've never had an issue with the 2.0.

Yep, same. Started in NC, been through SC/FL/TN/AL/KY and now CO and UT and never felt like the turbo was a detriment in any way. And at altitude it is only a benefit.

Please let me know any issues that you have experienced with the 2.0L Turbo or have read about that may be chronic with it. I am considering a new Wrangler and don’t know if I truly want this powertrain.

So rev it? it was designed to run at certain rev range. I don't understand why this is an issue for so many people.

it is like getting on a mountain bike and going on a low speed on the shifter. Youre gonna rev your legs faster, doesn't mean you're stressing them more or anything like that.

I've said it a million times. Same thing. Tomato tomatoe.

The only reason Jeep has the V6 option is because a lot of people don't like 4 bangers. There is a lot of misconception out there, thinking a V6 is just always going to deliver more torque and/or power than a 4 banger because it has more cylinders.

It is like.
Jeep: "we really want you to buy a Wrangler".
Customer: "But I don't like it has a sedan 4 banger engine in it".
Jeep: "Well it does have a turbo-charger"
Customer: "huh?"
Jeep: "Does V6 sound better then?"
Customer: "Hell yeah"
