If laying under the jeep looking up at the bottom of axle side and frame side track bar mounts. if you move the steering wheel back and forth I see the bushing move 1 mm both ways. i.e driver side to passenger side and vise versa
that should be normal right?
its the bushing compressing and not the bolt wiggling.
just a little back story, I got my jeep back from getting engine work done out of state. and took it to work like normal and got the horrible steering wheel shimmy between 50 and 55 if I did not slow down it would have gone into DW.
I had zero issues driving it to Moab 1200 miles where the engine failed and had to get it shipped back. so nothing was changed suspension wise just new camshafts, I went under and tightened every jam nut and bolts on front i.e control arms, track bar, drag link, tie rod, lug nuts.
I have Rock Krawler upper and lower arms, steer smart tie rod, draglink and brand new track bar, steer smart track bar brace, teraflex ball joints and fox ats steering stabilizer.
all these parts are 1 year old and 4k miles on them, except track bar is brand new to replace a Rock Krawler track bar.
also I checked the bolt holes they are not wollowed out. plus I installed larger 9/16 size to replace the 14mm stock bolts in trac bar.
I have internal balance beads in my 37 ko2s and I am getting them checked tomorrow at discount tire. but like I said it just drove 1200 miles no problem out to Moab from Mn.
I been messing with jeeps for 20 years but they were all XJ's but the JL is the same concept.
just looking for set of ideas I have not covered yet.
my next plan is to get the balance beads out and put weights on the rims, also I am going to check the alignment when it stops raining. still drives straight and smooth down the road, just hit a divot in the road around 50 - 55 and wheel starts going out of control slowly and escalates tell I slow down to 30 - 40
