Steer smarts track bar issues

I tried searching the forum but with no luck.

when I was installing the trackbar I had a difficult time tightening the clamps that secure the sleeve. I backed the nuts all the way off to make sure they were not cross thread. Is this an issue people have been having or did I do something wrong?

I had no issues. They easily torqued to either 45 or 65 ft lbs. I can’t remember the exact torque, but I had no issues. Is the clamp closed enough that there’s no stress on the bolt?

I don’t think so. I had to use an impact to get the bolts loose to check to make sure they weren’t cross thread. Then I tightened them off of the track bar and it was almost as if they were the wrong bolt to nut but no issues with the threads to at I could see. Then I had to use the impact to get them started again at which point I could torque them. I don’t think there is any movement on the sleeve. Honestly wasn’t too impressed with what I got.

It was a 21 mm bolt and a 24 mm nut which seemed weird to me. But I’m learning on the go.

Sorry for that. I installed mine about two years ago. Track bar, drag link and tie rod. Was great quality. Have things gone downhill?

I was super excited about it. Hopefully someone has some insight on it. Not saying it’s gone downhill but feel like it’s shouldn’t be an issue. I’m a beginner but I thought I could tighten a bolt. Its more strange to me than anything.

I would call steersmart and ask for replacement clamps and bolts. The ones you put on with the impact, may not come off. I think something was probably defective, and they should stand behind their product.

I just installed a yeti xd track bar a few weeks ago and had no issues. the clamp nuts take a little force to get them torqued to 70 ft/lbs but I think they are a type of lock nuts so they are not just going to spin on and off without some force.

that is how they are. if you look at lower front control arms that is how they are...the bolt is 21mm the nut 24mm

X2,Did this about a month ago.
