Maybe mixing up some flexing with fluttering

Don’t have a video but what my hood does is more constant than that video shows. Starts somewhere above 70mph. Really gets going close to 80mph. Its a continuous verticle motion and occurs regardless of the vehicles (or 18 wheelers) around me. Seems to be getting worse too.

That thing was cowl shaking, flexing, fluterring all together ?
Maybe. But if that Jeep was doing anything less than 99mph on that highway, that hood shouldn't be "fluttering"...

Soooo......take the vent out and install the Morimoto side light or return them and don't mess up a good thing?
Two questions: How involved is the install? And, can you return them without penalty?

If the answers are not bad and yes. I say go for it. Test it on the highway for a day or two, then return if bad. Keep if good.

The install is pretty simple, but once installed they aren't returnable. They are held in place with snap in clips and 3M double sided tape.

I just looked up the lights and found this wonderful little piece of marketing.

From Morimoto's Site: XB LED SIDE MARKER LIGHTS
RANDOM VENT: Pull those stock vent pieces on the side of your Wrangler JL or Gladiator JT and replace them with something useful! A simple-yet-intense, safe-yet-subtle approach to sneaking some side markers to your fenders, just in case! "
Big yikes. Seems like they don't realize it is a functional vent, not random. I went ahead and contacted them via their webpage and I will let you know if they respond.

In a high headwind at 75+ the front edge of my hood will lift and drop and while not full blown "flutter" it happens--especially when passing a tractor trailer.

What adjustments can be done? The side latches do not appear to have any adjustment, is it the center "loop" that needs to be tweaked?

A dealership told me that nothing was adjustable. I'll take it to another.

That is what I am thinking too, but I have not looked at the center latch settings as it happens so infrequently, it is sort of out of sight and out of mind.

With that said--it is a real thing and I am not imagining the hood trying to lift under those conditions, it is happening.

No one claimed it was a JL. Perhaps the 2012 Jeep Wrangler gave it away?
True. But considering that this is a JL forum.......

And honestly - no. I didn't even notice the description. It was the hood that gave it away.

Could be just the center latch needs to be adjusted. If they say it can't I would maybe check with a reputable bodyshop. Or maybe the side latches are a just bad batch?
