I've noticed a lot (most? all?) of the center console dividers for the JL have a little "change tray" thing. And I was just looking at cup holder expanders and saw some with change organizers on the sides. Do a lot of people carry coins in their vehicles?
I do carry change, but it's in my pocket, unless my day will likely include literal rollercoaster riding. (My reasons: Small town parking meters, "penny smasher" souvenir machines, and pinball - but most of those don't use/need quarters anymore either.)
The nearest toll booths (which I avoid anyway) are cashless, and most parking is cashless or would be more practically paid with paper money. Basically, I've never felt the need to keep "jingling money" in the Jeep.
I'm not annoyed by change, but I'm curious about people having it in a vehicle enough for product makers to think a holder for it is a specifically needed feature.
Now that you know way more about me than you ever wanted... Do you carry/organize coins in your JL? Why?

TL/DR: Do you carry coins in your JL? Reasons?

I have a plastic spring-loaded quarter holder. I think it was originally designed for carrying quarters to play billiards.

Isn't that what the hand grip on the driver's side door armrest is for?

Having loose change would necessitate 3 things occur in sequence, one that I actually had cash on me, very rare, two that I was somewhere that didn't take Apple Pay or credit cards, also very rare, and three the place of business did not have a "donate your loose change bucket" located near the register.

If fate aligns all three of those things, then I most certainly drop said change into the hand grip on the driver's side door armrest.

Any change I get from somewhere goes in my cup holder. When it starts filling up I just toss it in a jar at home. I use vending machines at work from time to time, so it’s nice to know I have a backup.

I use the small, rectangular cubby directly underneath the parking brake handle to hold any surplus coins that accumulate during the course of my daily errands. That space seems custom-made to carry coins. It even has a removable liner for occasional cleaning.

When said cubby fills up, I'll scoop up the accumulated coins and store them in a jar inside the house. When the jar is full, as it was just last week, I'll take it to our bank for conversion into paper currency. My most recent haul was ~$186.00.

Having a few coins in one's pocket is also good for the occasional laugh, or sigh, when adding xx cents to one's payment in order to receive just paper currency as change. Even with a touchscreen terminal directly in front of them and available to do the math, some cashiers still struggle with this task. I won't help them, either.

This. I'm convinced that's why it's there. Nice to have a few coins laying around for that unexpected parking meter and such.

I keep a change holder for fast food drive thru, because I only use cash for them. It's one of the few reasons why I even keep any amount of cash on me week to week.
