You are 100% in the majority on this forum. And less so in the eyes of the general consumer :/
Why would the general consumer, who is content to limit themselves to pavement, ever want a Jeep? You’re comment is a little condescending when most of the people on this forum actually off-road their Jeep and modify it for that specific interest.

We aren’t biased; we just don’t drive appliances. The quirks that come with owning a Jeep are irrelevant in comparison to the fact that no other vehicle can be off-roaded and modified off the showroom floor like a Jeep.

Before you say Bronco, lets look at their forum where they have to upgrade there entire steering system just to not break a tie-road rolling through the grass, or the fact that their bilstein shocks keep having the reservoir rust off, their hardtop’s don’t last a year, the cost to lift is double what a jeep is, and lets not forget ford engine gate.

So, yeah, the general public wouldn’t enjoy owning a jeep, because they are boring and don’t understand its purpose. I agree with @yokramer that “They also buy gold Camrys so maybe their opinions shouldn’t be considered”

Proving his point 👍

Hi All,

My name is Tommy Mica, I am a producer for a YouTube channel called TFLcar.

Following up on the JL rust concerns. If you have been impacted and want to tell your story let’s do a zoom call for a video! Send me a dm or shoot me an email at [email protected]. Would love to hear your experience.
Thanks!
I have a 2019 Wrangler JLU Sport S with 75K miles. I've had ZERO problems with corrosion, paint, rust or anything else other than the ESS start/stop thing. It was fixed under warranty at about 10K miles with the manual clutch recall. I'm in Texas...so not too much snow/ice/corrosive stuff. I also keep up with regular maintenance (oil, wipers, battery, tires), and sprayed on Mother's ceramic coating 2 or 3 times since 2019.

I'm not saying others haven't had a problem with paint. But that isn't my experience. If it happened to me, you can bet I would get loud. But so far, no problems. I love it now as much as the day I got it. Put that in your show.

I am probably in the minority on this forum when I say I have little to no intentions of off roading my Jeep.

I come from the SxS world where things like heat, ac, and a sealed cab are pretty much reserved for the high end utility models lol. My daughter's have rode with me since they were toddlers (9yo and 5yo) and now I find myself riding more township sxs friendly roads and "fire roads" than anything these days. I got tired of needing a tow vehicle with a big trailer to do all of this and instead figured screw it, I will buy the cheapest new wrangler I can find in the country and be able to go wherever I want with the top down and doors off.... and I didn't want a convertible camaro or mustang :CWL:

All of that being said, this is a 3rd vehicle that will only serve as a toy on nice sunny days with the top down. I think it's still plenty unique enough for the general consumer and while the extremist and purist may not like the goofballs riding around on 20s with ducks all over their dashes... they are still consumers none the less lol.

I've done the full size off road rig thing before though, had a 4runner limited (not the right trim lol). I was lost in a sea of Jeeps every time we went on guided tours of Rausch Creek Park haha!!

Just repainting is why its coming back. New repair procedure is to replace the affected panels.
Just to be clear, the issue with the paint is bubbling for Jeeps from 2018 on (not 100% sure on dates). Jeep decided to change the door material to aluminum, which was incompatible with the hinges. This causes paint to bubble around the hinges. this issue is covered under warranty up to 50kmiles, but Jeep was not forthcoming about letting anyone know about the issue and that it was covered. Luckily I discovered my paint bubbles around the doors before my warranty was out. It was tough finding a Jeep dealer who would take care of the situation, but I found Fort Collins CO Jeep would do it. They replaced four doors, my hood, and my tailgate door and the hinges an totally repainted my jeep good as new. Hope it lasts without any further issues.

The warranty is 5 years, unlimited miles. The doors and hinges are both aluminum. The issue is the doors are primed and painted with the hinges attached so there is raw aluminum under those hinges.

Interesting. I was told 50k miles. Period. Also they told me the doors were aluminum and that was the issue.

I had corrosion around the hinges on the doors and hood of my 2020 JLU. My local Jeep dealer was very responsive and completed a repair in a reasonable amount of time. I have no complaints or issues. I'm happy with the job they did.

Interesting. I was told 50k miles. Period. However, my car is an '18, so it's actually older than 5 yrs. My paint bubbled above the hinges. I just wonder who is the engineer that failed to see that would be a problem.

The entire Issue is bad prep. If the doors were just primed before the hinges were attached and the doors hung on the vehicle for painting, this most likely wouldn't be the huge issue that it's become.

My 2020 (50k miles) is booked for doors, hood, hinges. Parts should arrive in August. I am worried about the paint match (bikini pearl).
