2018 JL PROBLEMS

I have a 2018 jl wrangler with 3800 miles on it and its in the shop and the dealer says they have to replace the ecm. Has anyone had trouble like this?

I had an alternator die 5 months in. Completely covered by warranty though, so not too much of an inconvenience.

I know many are having problems with their JL and I hope when mine gets here it will be problem free. I've had a JK for 7 years with no problems. I bought a new 1981 Camaro Z28 when they were just starting to put computers in cars. Ran fine for few months but then started stumbling from a start unless you floored it. Dealer couldn't figure out how to fix, they flew in an engineer from Detroit to try to fix it. He even put in a Corvette PROM to see if that would fix it. Nope. They bought it back as a lemon. Salesman drove it as his employee promotion car. He was at a stop light on a city street and floored it but didn't slow down and crashed at 70 mph. Hopefully every JL owner with a major problem can get them fixed so they don't have to use the lemon law.

I've been racking up miles lately on a loaner Cherokee because my JL is in the shop and they have no clue what the problem is. Today is calendar day 11 without my JL. Lemon law takes effect at day 30 in my state, though I'm not sure if that's calendar days or business days.

So far my 2018 with 3500 miles (bought in September) has been trouble free. Its actually very good. I hesitate even taking it in for an oil change for fear something may start to go wrong LOL.

Yes, I had issues with my Jeep running lean, bucking, and constantly throwing the CEL. Dealer replaced multiple O2 sensors which did not fix the problem. After 25 days in the shop they finally replaced the ECM which fixed all of my engine issues. Jeep has been perfect since ECM replacement.
