Must be region dependant. My rates went down last year before buying the JL, and I'm paying about $740 for the year for the JL.

I have noticed a significant increase in insurance costs recently. I have a 2021 JLUR, took delivery in March of 21 and it has 5300 miles at this time. Last year I paid $670 for 6 months coverage, now my bill is $820 for 6 months. I have had State Farm insurance on all of my vehicles (4 at this time) plus home owners, no claims for over 30 years and no traffic violations in over 45 years. Bodily injury coverage on all is $250k/$500k.
I am not looking for the absolute cheapest insurance, but I do want the best value (coverage) for cost.
Would like to hear what others are paying or similar vehicle coverage and their experience when filing a claim.

Would like to hear what others are paying for similar coverage and which insurance co.

Happy off-road trails.
Geo.
I don't know about the rest of y'all, but the second my Wrangler is paid off, I'm getting state minimums when it comes to insurance. $50 a month or less. Only there to protect the other driver when I run them off the road at 125 mph!

I'm with Progressive and have no claims. My policy consists of 100/300/100 $500 Coll/Comp, Uninsured, Rental. My last 6 mo. renewal was $340, and now it's $444. I shopped around with 4 others (Allstate, Geico, Nationwide, Liberty Mutual) and all were more expensive. Nationwide told me for the lowest rate he could quote me Clearcover, but the reviews seemed lackluster and risky.

It will vary depending on your locality too, but here's mine for Wake Forest NC. Also State Farm, and also have a separate personal umbrella policy, homeowners, and my wife's BMW on the plan.

USAA 250/500 2022 Wrangler Rubi 8kmi/yr is $687 for 6-months, in Colorado. I have 3 vehicles and the house. Been with them 30+/- years, no at-fault accident for 30+ years. Interestingly, my newer, much more expensive, Jeep has lower premium than my 5yo pickup truck.

USAA, 100/300 with 5k miles a year for $443.28 every 6 mths. We have House, umbrella, 3 cars, 2 motorcycles (via progressive usaa partnership), and a few other items. I check every few years, but haven’t found anyone who will beat usaa. Plus their customer service has been top notch for us. I got t-boned several years ago, wasnt my fault, they forgave the accident, and didn’t raise our rates.

My experience is, if you switch you'll get much better rates. Then they'll creep up again. And...you switch again. Rinse. Repeat.

I pay $381 for six months coverage.

OP, have you looked at the Drive Safe and Save discount from State Farm? It can really give a good discount if you aren't driving a lot of miles on the vehicle.

That's another good point. My premium above is based on an estimated annual mileage of 6k. (I work from home.)

When Allstate was about to jack my rate up by over 30% this past February I called my local office and told them I couldn't pay anymore than where I was at, so if they couldn't find a way to keep me within $5 a month, I'd have to go elsewhere. They called me back about 30 minutes later and we went over the changes and the new premium, which turned out to only be about $2 a month different. The biggest help for my premium was switching to their 'mileage' policy. I don't drove my Jeep a whole lot back and forth to work because I have my '03 Highlander (liability only) to share the miles with. While I lost the disappearing deductible option, everything else (coverages/deductible/uninsured motorist) were virtually identical. I recommend you 1)call your local agent and challenge them with finding you discounts and 2) shop around if they can't help you get a better rate....

The cost of vehicles, parts, repairs, and the rate of claims is up. How many cars were destroyed in flood/fire last year, and how many JL's are now in the hands of people who are wheeling them hard (or just driving them into a river, based on recent threads).

The similar coverages and pricing at just under $400 per 6 months looks spot-on. Sounds like it's time to call State Farm, and if it's just that high, time to shop carriers.

This post actually pushed me to shop around and find a better premium. Both include towing/labor. No accidents/claims in last 5 years. With State Farm, I was enrolled in Drive Safe and Save (driving tracking app), otherwise the premium would've been +$229/6months. The Progressive premium is without any driving tracking app/discount, has better coverage, and still lower than State Farm. Seemed like a no-brainer to switch.

Just compared my St. Farm rates with an on-line quote from AAA, could be some small savings.
Need to sit down with St. Farm and hve a serious discussion.
