For those of you who are in current possession of your new JLs, what insurance quote did you get? I know this varies by a lot of factors including insurance, age, driving history, discounts and special memberships but I just want a rough estimate of what to expect. I am 25 yrs old but have been able to put my dad as the main driver for lower rates in previous vehicles.

I am with Progressive, and they still haven't been able to quote me on the VIN I provided. Hopefully by the time I take delivery in approx 2 weeks they have the numbers!

Should be similar to a new JK. Most insurance rates are also related to credit score these days also.

I’m going to put it a different way.... I live in CO and the rates here are worse than anywhere I’ve ever lived. But the JL was roughly $335 more than the 2013 Passat I traded for it. This is about a 30% increase when compared to the Passat. It is even more than my 2015 F-250 diesel, making it the most expensive vehicle I insure. Not for the weak of heart insurance wise....

I have a 2017 sahara and a 2018 rubicon.

They rubi is just a couple dollars more per month.

Btw they were both cheaper than the 2016 chrysler 300s the rubi replaced

Insurance is almost impossible to compare. There are a lot of variables other than the vehicle - age, gender, state, deductibles, coverages, etc. Not sure you can get very useful information here.

Can't remember what we pay but JL insurance went up like $40 bucks (every six months). From JKU.

I looked a little further and can say the majority of my increase over the rest of the vehicles on my policy was mainly collision and comprehensive. So statistically these coverages must get more use or have higher expenses on a Wrangler than other vehicles.

Assuming the articles are correct Jeep used more aluminum panels (like hood and doors). This is a known cost increase for collision coverage as seen by owners of Ford trucks that heavily use aluminum in body panels.

As already said though, there are soooo many variables in insurance there’s no good way to compare other than call your agent and request a quote. I took the VIN for the Rubi I liked and had my agent quote me before purchase so there were no surprises.

A year, or per six-month payment?
Yearly

My 2017 Corvette is $445 a year.
I guess It helps to have 8 vehicles, 2 boats, 2 UTV’s and several homes insured with them.

We also pay all of insurance once a year so there is no service fees as those can add up quick.
