Ok, I wasn't fortunate enough to be able to order all the goodies before leaving on deployment. I wanted to make sure the wife had a reliable Jeep before I left. Long story on vehicles. My plan to rectify buying off the lot without some of the things I wish I would have ordered. It seems logical to me to tackle a few of the wire runs at the same time to prevent taking the fender flare out multiple times. Please let me know if I am missing anything or a better way to go about this. Install the trailer tow package, aux switches, flat tow, LED group. The Sahara came with the 7" & Alpine upgrade, I will install the 8.4" Infotainment. The dealer will install the Cold Weather Group.. Did I miss an upgrade? May go ahead and install the wire harness and sensors for the proximity locks while it is taken apart. From a previous conversation with Champion Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep in Athens, AL; the dealer will work with me on adding the sales codes to my build sheet and updating because of the relationship my family has with them.

@Grateful1; everything you said you made sense except the proximity. As @MORTON said, currently, as I understand it, there is no way to add the factory proximity system as it requires parts that are only programmed/installed at the factory. See this thread for more info:

If you do figure it out...please let us all know because there are A LOT of us that would love to do this! And good luck with the rest of your build! :like:

I have read that one. I may hold off on that. Will check after deployment and see what the GM says on the locks.

so how do you add a heated steering wheel after the fact? (That is not just a cover)

Cold Weather Group. It is the heated steering wheel, heated front seats, buttons on the center dash, and remote start. I read on here someone else added at the dealership after the fact. They may replace the steering wheel. I didn’t ask actually. Good question. I will find out in a couple months.

Would it just be more feasible to trade that one in and order what you want?
More than likely yes. The thing is the wife bought a ‘98 Wrangler TJ Sport Memorial Day weekend in ‘98. So I wanted a new Wrangler, and I was deploying, so we decided it would be cool to get another Wranger 20 years later around the same time and be step above the ‘98 TJ I drive now. She fell in love with the color and the Sahara. Woman get something in their minds it is easier to just ride the wave and deal with the BS later. Plus she didn’t want to wait. Cheaper and easier, sure. I get to have some wrench time and some knuckles busted. It will be fun.

I asked my dealer the same question before ordering my JL - regarding cold weather group. And they straight up told me it’s not doable (to the same level as factory ordered)
Will see how it turns out. Not a big deal. Just another toy. I can still do the leather, heated and cooled seats. Not everything will come to fruition but it doesn’t hurt to try. In 10 years I will order the one with all the options.
