You want heat.... We live in Arizona.... We'll post an update later this summer. So far, we're loving this option! So cool to just hit that switch and go topless.
I ordered the one touch top a week ago. One thing I didn't think about was the heat coming through the top. How bad is it?

Just ordered a 2020 Ocean Blue Rubicon with Sky One-Touch. Dealer said he thought I should not go through car washes ... any thoughts?

It's pretty warm. Just like a soft top when it's closed, no insulation.

I've had mine 8 months, 21,000 miles in every type of weather and no leaks. But I haven't gone through a drive-through car wash because I'm hetero.

I would say it is warmer than a normal car, but not unbearably so. And it has a great feature for clearing out the hot air - put the top back!

I have taken it through about a dozen times. I get a few drops from the high pressure hoses and dryers. Far less than my other convertibles.
My carwash has the big heavy fabric which drags over the top.The brushes only touch the sides of the Wrangler.

After over a year of following this forum and dreaming of buying a new Wrangler JL, we finally pulled the trigger and bought a new Jeep Wrangler Sahara (JLU). I never thought I'd buy one with the retractable soft top, until I saw my wife's eyes light up when I pressed the button during the test drive. It really is easy to operate and I imagine it will save us the hassle of storing multiple tops. I was getting ready to "compromise" and get a 3 piece hard-top and an aftermarket sunrider for hard top. Anyway, I thought I'd share with you some initial impressions of the Sky One-Touch retractable top. 1) It's super easy to operate, 2) it's a little noisy compared to the hard top, but not overly so, 3) you don't get beat up by the wind going 55+ mph, 4) I haven't taken out the rear windows yet, but they easily store in a bag that comes with the Jeep. I saw someone remove them and it took about a minute to remove and store them in the bag. 5) the top can be slow to close, but not overly slow, 6) cruising around town with the top retracted and windows down is a great feeling.

There are two cons thus far from what I can tell - the mopar grab handles do not fit and I do not know how great looking the Jeep will be with the top on (retracted), doors off, and back windows out.

Obviously, all of this is subjective. I hope someone finds the above useful.
Glad you like your Sky Power Top. I too have one and you can use the Mopar Older JK Grab Handles. They thread through the small space and do not interfere with the Top opening. Sending a pic of mine I just started to install.

I had heard the Soft tops were hotter than hardtops. I found out real quick my Sky Power Top gets hot sitting in sun. Didn't expect it that hot. Live in Texas and when it is 100 and Humidity Heat index hits 110. I open Windows a few minutes before I leave work. She stays in the Garage at home. But I love the ease of one button to open Top. Going to love Texas Winter and Topless !! Enjoy your Jeep !!

Just wanted to let you know that the Sky Power Tops are made with the Premium Twill Material. I had talked to Jeep and they recommend Bestop Twill Protectant. Its made just for the Premium Twill material. I started right off with 2 Good applications. Water just runs off and Bird Poop wipes right off. The Bird poop you should clean off quickly too. Protects against UV fading, cracking and hardening too.

I have driven through some Texas Size Thunderstorms without drop inside. I only handwash my autos always anyway. Wouldn't think about driving Sky Top through auto wash place. Only use the Carwash with Pressure wands to clean the undercarriage of mud. Dang 21,000 miles in 8 months thats a lot. :jk:

I have a 2019 Sahara one touch.... having issues with it leaking in the back. been to the dealer three times. They say them leaking is just un heard of... I just got lucky :( , I noticed water running down back window on the inside !! getting a new seal for the third time. hope this fixes the issue. I have not heard of one other person having a leak. I as well was told don't go thru automatic high pressure car washes with dryer

How often do you apply? Does it come pretty protected from the factory? I was told on my other Cab protect it once a year, after the first year.

I think the directions say every 3-4 months but I’m sure it has more to do with the elements you’re in and if it’s garage kept etc. I applied yesterday and only took about 5 minutes.

instead of using a rag to apply like the directions state, I poured it into a spray bottle and sprayed in on then rubbed it in using a rubber glove. I feel like the rags soak up too much product.
