Why has nobody said just to use Bluetooth.. Just pair the phone and use bluetooth. All the wheel controls work for fast forward, etc.

Thats all I use. Saves having to plug the phone in etc. 100% wireless.

You can thank me later :)

Does AARP have an affiliate discount that you can use on a Jeep? ?

Half kidding / half not.
Ha ha ha... oh wait; I'm actually a member. Don't know.

I used a military $500 discount and a $1000 code I got off the official Jeep page. OTD for my well optioned Jeep was $60,250.

My phone is paired. If that works, why don't they tell us that? I mainly want to use Pandora and GAIA.

Android 7?! Definitely time for an upgrade; any phone on that is at least 7 years old.

Get any Android from the last couple years, yes even a "cheap" one that's $200-300, and it'll work great with Android Auto on your head unit. If you're familiar with Samsungs, give the new "Galaxy A" series a shot; it'll be at least somewhat familiar -- and a whole lot nicer than the Galaxy J3.
This is the one I'll probably get.

You mean on page 308 of the manual why doesnt it say use bluetooth for media?
I guess you have to read it :)

Media
Uconnect offers connections via USB,
Bluetooth and auxiliary ports (If Equipped).
Voice operation is only available for con-
nected USB and AUX devices.
Push the VR button . After the beep, say
one of the following commands and follow
the prompts to switch your media source or
choose an artist.
• “Change source to Bluetooth”
• “Change source to AUX”
• “Change source to USB”
• “Play artist Beethoven”; “Play album Great-
est Hits”; “Play song Moonlight Sonata”;
“Play genre Classical

Pandora will work fine. Anything that the phone can play audibly you can play.

I have a modern Samsung phone running Android.

My Jeep runs android auto.
I use it for maps, phone calls and TXT messages.

On my desktop PC I have Apple iTunes. I have bought songs.
I used "copy and paste" to copy songs to my phone.
If I try to play the songs through Android auto, Google does not allow it. I refuse to pay a subscription to "Youtube Music" to play my songs.

So, instead, I copy and paste the songs to a USB stick and then play my songs through Jeep Uconnect.

When I am walking, I play the songs on my phone via a third party app.
Youre using iTunes to load an Android phone? Why don't you just use windows Explorer? iTunes is notoriously bloated. TBH, I didn't even know you could load up any other brand with it.

Why don't you just use Spotify? Its literally free.

The Bluetooth user experience is nowhere near as good as Android Auto.

No, I have iTunes on a Windows PC. With songs saved to the PC I "copy and paste" to the phone.

I don't use Spotify because I refuse to use any streaming service whatsoever.

It is $12 per month for standard service or $18 per month for a premium service.

Android Auto gives me things that just using bluetooth does not:

- Google maps
- Receive and send TXT messages
- The name of a caller appears on the screen if the caller is a existing contact on the phone.

Yes, but what I'm saying is with android you don't need to use iTunes at all. When you plug your phone into a PC it isn't acts loema USB stick. Drag and drop and lose the shitty bloat that is iTunes.

Spotify is completely free of you're willing to listen to the odd ad. Also. If you have Amazon Prime, you get Amazon Music free as well.

I picked up my new 2023 JLU Willys 2.0T XR last week. I'm loving it. I'm starting to figure out all the dash and U-connect stuff and getting it set up how I want it. It isn't too difficult (although getting the dash set up and making changes is still a little challenging to get it on the first try).

However, I wanted to connect my Android phone to the U-Connect so I could listen to Pandora (70's soft rock) and see what other apps I could get to pull up from my phone to the Jeep's screen (like GAIA). Per the Jeep's instructions, I downloaded Android Auto on my phone, but my phone says "Can't run Android Auto on this phone". The instructions that came with the Jeep said I needed version 6.0 at least, and my phone is a version 7.0. You'd think it would work.

So I went to the T-Mobile store and spoke with a very nice lady. I guess my phone is just too old. It has the latest updates, so that isn't the issue. I think they're up to version 13.0 now.

I guess I'm a dinosaur (I'm only 62), and my phone (Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime) is an antique. Will be getting a new phone later this week.

I guess we're both dinosaurs because I'm 62 also. I think the problem might not be the phone, but rather, the music you're trying to listen to. I usually listen to SIRIUS XM, Classic Vinly, with no problems, but as soon as I try to play any "soft rock" my Willys just refuses.

I wouldn't own a Google Pixel, smartphone if you gave it to me for free.

Especially, since I'm a JL owner.... and enjoy using wireless Android Auto.
I'll bite, what are you using to connect wirelessly. This is my dream, help me make it come true.
